1 year later.

She sat there. Kimmie recently turned 6 and she was the most happiest she has ever been in her whole life. She had the most loving fathers and uncle. Her cousin Annabelle loved her till the ends of the earth and she would always love protecting her 4 year old brother, AJ. She couldn’t find anything wrong in her life.

Kimmie’s thoughts were soon interrupted with a squeaky hello. Kimmie looked up to see an Asian boy with pointy black hair staring at her. “Hello.” Kimmie replied politely.

“My name is Huy.”

“I love your name Huy, my name is Kimmie.”

“I know.” Huy said with a goofy grin plastered on his face. Only one dimple showed in his smile, but Kimmie quickly assessed that she loved his smile. Huy interrupted her thoughts by asking her if she would like to play at the swings. Kimmie quickly agreed and they set off on their journey to the swings that gave children so much excitement and joy.

“So Huy tell me about yourself.”  Kimmie said shyly.

“Well both my father and mother have always told me how I should probably do better in school and that I am only doing passable. But I love them nonetheless. My favorite color is scarlet and I have a younger sister who was just born. Kimmie tell me all about you.”

Kimmie giggled and started off, “Well both of my dad’s-“

“Wait you have two dads?” Huy asked with surprise.

“Yeah is that a problem?”

“Actually no I’ve always found it awesome with parents who are willing to stand up for themselves and be parents. They sound cool.”

“Oh they are, but back to what I was saying both of my dad’s love me to death and I have a younger brother who is 4. My favorite color is teal and my uncle Wes and cousin Annabelle live with us always making our annual Friday night dinners kind of interesting, if I do say myself.”

“Kimmie would you like to be my friend?” Huy asked after finally gathering the courage to finally ask her. Huy wore a nervous smile and Kimmie found it quite adorable. Kimmie politely agreed while blushing madly.

1 week later.

“So tell me Kimmie are you the only Asian decent in your family?” Huy asked after an awkward hug they shared a week after they agreed to be friends.

“Yes I do, my uncle Wes, why?”

“I just I’ve never met another Asian girl in the school so it’s interesting.”

Kimmie giggled again like a little school girl at that comment. Huy stopped and they turned to look at each other. Kimmie got to see how his dark brown eyes filled with beautiful amber specks making his eyes that much more compelling. Kimmie always loved looking into his eyes. Her thoughts were once again interrupted from Huy.

“Kimmie I think I love your eyes.” Huy said embarrassed.

“You think?” Kimmie asked.

“No. I know that I love your eyes.” Huy said more confidently.

Kimmie was about to reply, but was interrupted by a loud honking noise. Kimmie looked over at the noise to see her daddy Blaine staring at her with fondness. Kimmie looked to Huy and said, “I’m sorry, but my daddy has requested for me to come to the car.” Kimmie said with a business like voice, making Huy laugh and hug her again a little less awkward now.

Kimmie left his warm embrace and sadly trudged towards her parent’s car. When she entered the back seat she wasn’t greeted by her normal hello princess how was school, but by, “Who is he and why is he talking to you?” This made Kimmie laugh because she absolutely loved daddy Blaine in protective form.

“My best friend daddy, his name is Huy.”

“Does he treat you right princess?” Blaine said with a gruff to his voice.

“He does and always will I think.”

“Good, but the minute he hurts you in any way you tell me missy, so me and him can have a little talk.”
“Daddy stop it’s not like we are dating or anything he is just my friend. We are only six not sixteen.”

“Why are you so mature for your age?”

“I really don’t know.”

“You sound way to much like your daddy Kurt to mature.”

“I like it.”

“I do to that’s why I married him isn’t it?”

“Just his maturity?”

“No, how about we just listen to some music okay?”

“Fine by me.” Kimmie said giving in with this pointless conversation.

Blaine smiled at her and turned the radio on getting greeted by rap music, which he quickly changed hearing curse words coming out of his speakers. Blaine silently cursed himself and turned towards Kimmie. “Don’t tell your other daddy about this.”

“Okay.” Kimmie said with a giggle getting to see Blaine flustered. This was going to be a long car ride home if these type things kept happening. Kimmie looked out the window thinking as everything around her passed in a blur. Her thoughts led to Huy’s beautiful eyes and she sighed with content. Things were looking up for her since 2 years ago and she was happy about that, nothing could bring her down.
