Author’s Note: Well hello guys what up? Okay that sounds lame. That is not the point. I would like to say hello! It’s been too damn long in my opinion and I feel like shit for doing that to you. I really don’t even know what this chapter is going to hold, so just know what you are about to read is off the top of my head. So CAUTION! Also if you would like to know, which I’m not sure if you do, I just finished Jr. High and I am now considered a freshman. So yay me! Yeah no, I’m going to a different school than that of my friends. I don’t want that to happen, but due to academics and whatnot I shall be entering Bowie while they go to Seguin. Okay wow I should not be rambling my issues to you. You so don’t deserve that. Okay so onwards and upwards to the next installment of Love is Among All of Us.

1 year later.

You know what sucks more than being blind is? Being blind and having to tell people that have known you forever. For AJ that was no exception. The thing he says he will miss the most is being able to see Gavin every day. Even being able to perform science experiments safely is also something that he will miss dearly. So AJ does everything in his power to make sure that him being blind doesn’t affect anything he does in the future or present. AJ creates a system in his room at the age of 16 and it works out for him. At 16 AJ published his first science novel. It was a New York Times Best Seller. But something life changing occurred on AJ’s 17th birthday.

AJ woke up with a startled noise in the back of his throat. AJ just groaned and fell back into his warm bed that felt like 20 million clouds. 5 minutes later his alarm started to go off again and needless to say AJ was pissed. His mornings for the last year have been like this. Wake up, fall back asleep, 5 minutes later alarm goes off. But he knew to follow routine or he would be thrown off and that was not a pretty sight. AJ got up followed his strategic plan of steps and entered the bathroom where he showered and brushed his teeth in dead silence. At 9:05 exactly AJ exited his room in a normal day outfit. The outfit consisted of a Captain America t-shirt that was charcoal gray, white skinny jeans, a black cardigan, and a charcoal gray beanie. His hair flowing freely in the beanie and he felt, well he felt like a blind person usually does, tired.

When AJ entered the kitchen he didn’t hear the faint whispers, so when 6 people all screamed “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!” AJ might have freaked out a little bit by jumping back and screaming, “Oh dear lord what just happened?!”

Gavin came up and planted a small kiss onto AJ’s cheek and whispered, “It’s your birthday silly.”

AJ still wonders how he has been able to keep Gavin around. AJ didn’t voice that concern, but he was able to get out, “It’s May 12th already?” AJ seemed a little sad about it. The older he got the more he had to accept that his blindness was permanent.

“Well of course. I can’t believe my baby is already 17. Dammit Blaine you said this would be easier!” Kurt said with tears in his eyes. That’s what Kurt seems to be doing lately, crying. Either it being happy or sad he was always found crying and it wasn’t fair in AJ’s opinion, but he could never find the right words to express his feeling towards that, so he never said anything. AJ really hasn’t been saying much recently either. Everyone has been in a stupor since the attack, but you know what fuck a bunch of this shit today is going to be a happy day. That thought got AJ through the rest of the morning, where AJ was served breakfast that would make anyone drool which is what Blaine did.

When they were all done eating the scrumptious breakfast Gavin took AJ’s hand and led him to the front door and grabbed his car keys. Gavin gave his farewell to the rest of the family and prodded AJ to Gavin’s escalade. Once they entered Gavin placed a sweet kiss on AJ’s soft lips and spoke, “So tell me what’s up! I know you’re dying to spill.”

“How do you know?” AJ questioned.

“The whole 3 years of dating would give me an indication you know. So why don’t you talk about it, while I drive us somewhere.” AJ likes the plan so he nods his head and starts to talk about anything and nothing. The words seem to come easily and fall out like that is what their sole purpose in life was to do.

“I don’t know what to feel anymore, honestly. Without being able to see I feel as if I’m supposed to be better at reading people and their emotions, but how am I supposed to do that when I can’t even sort out my own emotions. Daddy K just cries all the time, Daddy B just wants to protect me even though we don’t know who attacked me, and I don’t want to bother Kimmie because she just had Russell and he’ll be turning one soon and that is a big step. I just want to lay around home all day.”

“So why don’t you?” Gavin piped up.

“Because I need some kind of income.”

“AJ what would you say if I asked you to move into an apartment with me right now?”

“I would jump on the band wagon and high tail it out of here to the apartment, but seeing as how were not doing that I just have to dream.”

“AJ let’s do it.”

“Gavin right now? I’m tired and don’t feel in the mood for sex.”

“That is not what I was talking about, even though I’m not opposed to it. I was talking about moving into an apartment together and living with each other.”

“Are you serious right now Gavin?”

“As serious as I can be.”

“When do you want to do this?”

“Right now, I’m driving us to our apartment right now.”

“So you got an apartment already not even knowing my answer. How presumptuous of you.”

“Had to start somewhere.”
