Previously:

The man or woman kept jumping from roof to roof, making it harder for Gibbs and his team to capture them. At last, he or she stopped and McGee took out his gun as the other three agents continued to chase after him. The masked figure took a glance at them and this quickly hid behind the chimney. A brick was thrown from that direction.

They all stopped at the intersection, where many cars were driving by. Since the scattered brick pieces were closer to Ellie, she picked up the piece of paper from it.

"Back off, or you'll get more than one dead person."

"What could that mean this ti-" Nick said, until he was cut off by the sound of shooting.

Bang Bang

The gunshots were coming from the crime scene.

Now:

Ellie gasped while McGee turned around. Gibbs frowned as Nick took a step closer to the sound.

Bang Bang

They knew something had happened, and it wasn't good.

"McGee, Nick, trail them."Gibbs commanded, taking one last glance at the runaway wrongdoer.

"Bishop, you're with me."

Ellie nodded and they both turned and ran as fast as they could back to the crime scene.

They sprinted and nudged people out of the way. Splatters of blood sat silently on the floor, and it most likely wasn't the victim's.

"Ducky! Quinn! Palmer!" Gibbs shouted, looking around for a sign that they were alright.

"Jethro! Over here!" a voice answered shakily.

"Ducky.." he mumbled as he and Bishop walked over to the alley, guns in hand.

A man laid on the floor, a pool of blood surrounding him.

"You alright, Duck?" Gibbs asked, taking one last glance at the body.

"Where are the others?" Ellie questioned, concerned.

"I'm quite fine. Everyone else was prepared to leave after you left. Alexandra had to go help some civilians. Mr. Palmer was behind the truck, at least when I last saw him," Ducky panted. "I..I had tea with Agent Hollister this morning. I just can't believe he's gone."

"I'm so sorry, Duck." Gibbs sympathized. "Bishop, stay with Ducky. I'm going to go find the others."

"Do you need my help?" Ellie asked, still clutching her gun.

"Nah, I'll be fine," Gibbs replied certainly.

He rushed over to the truck, but didn't notice anybody there.

"Must be inside." he thought as he walked over to the doors and knocked on them.

"W-who is it?" Jimmy cried.

"Palmer, it's Gibbs."

"Oh, oh!"

The young man was clearly taking a deep breath behind those locked doors. Steadily, he opened the door and poked his head through, as if he expected the shooter to be in Gibbs's spot instead.

"Alright..okay."

"Ducky's over by the alleyway with Bishop. They're just a few feet away. Join them."

Gibbs's gut already told him that there was no dangers here, as if there never was. He backed away from Mr. Palmer and knew he had to find Alex next. Separating didn't seem like such a good idea as it did earlier, but he had to wait. The longer he took, the greater the chance of the criminal escaping. Plus, Quinn was pretty tough, at least tough enough to defend herself, or so he thought.

Realizing he had just been standing there with no lead, Gibbs ran back to the alley.

"Did you see where the shooter went after?" Gibbs asked Ducky.

"He ran to the motel near Olley's." Ducky pointed. "Second floor? That's when I last saw him."

"He?"

"He wasn't wearing a mask, unlike the other two."

(edits from here and above/but i still need to fix some of the sentence on top :/)

"Thank you."

Gibbs took his gun out and ran to the closest motel.

-

The door creaked opened as the agent walked in.

"Who are you?" the person behind the counter asked.

"NCIS, Special Agent Gibbs," Gibbs said, showing his badge and ID.

Before the woman can ask more questions, Gibbs was already going up the stairs.

Oof

"Quinn?" he said.

"Oh Gibbs...." she groaned.

"You okay?"

"Yeah, sure."

Room 201's door opened as a man walked out.

"That's him!!" Alex cried as Gibbs aimed his gun at the man.

The man (which was probably a bit older than the other culprit) stepped back into the room and locked the door.

"Oh shit." Alex cursed.

Gibbs busted down the door fast enough to see the man getting away.

"Not again." he thought, running to the window.

Indeed, the man easily jumped onto the roof and started running.

Before Gibbs had a chance to run after him, his phone rang.

"Hello?" he said quickly, trying to unlock the jammed window.

"Gibbs..we didn't catch them. We're coming back. What happened?"

"They were working with someone. We only know that it was a guy."

"Okay, gotta hang up." McGee replied as he hung up.

"Quinn-" Gibbs started. "Are you sure you're okay?"

"Yeah.." she answered, grabbing the edge of the table. She looked paler than normal.

She fell onto her knee and her vision was getting blurry. Gibbs saw blood on her right shoulder.

"Alex!" he shouted as he caught her.

A/N: I probably have a lot of grammar mistakes, since I'm not "the best" at English. But thank your reading the third chapter of 'I Hate You'!!!
