"You've found the Chamber of Secrets."

"Indeed I have..." Tom looked dreamily around him. "After weeks of searching, imagine my surprise when I found out that it had been in the girl's lavatory all along!"

"It's impossible..." whispered Elliott. His eyes met with the stone, lifeless ones of Salazar Slytherin. "It hadn't been opened in years..."

"I did it, Elliott, can't you see?" Tom threw his arms in the air and smiled. "You're in the Chamber of Secrets right now!"

"This... This is unbelievable..."

Tom grinned and Elliott had a little smile. It was crazy. They had found the Chamber of Secrets which had been lost for centuries. And Tom was Slytherin's heir.

Careful, son of Cassandre, for Slytherin's heir you will perish, broken and mended, under braveness' blade your end shall be accomplished-

"You really were destined to find it..." murmured Elliott. He looked back at the statue.

"I was. I always knew that I was destined for great things in my life," replied Tom. "I didn't matter if I had to live with muggles. I simply made sure they knew I was the boss. It didn't matter who were my parents... Now that I know what I really am... And that we've found the chamber..."

"I still can't believe it. I mean, yes, I knew there was a chamber hidden somewhere, but to actually find it... And there's a freaking basilisk inside it..."

Tom laughed. "You don't like snakes?"

"Only the ones who try to bite my head off!" exclaimed Elliott, throwing a suspicious glance at the sleeping basilisk. Tom laughed some more.

"It won't hurt you anymore. It simply tried to get rid of those who aren't Heirs of Salazar..."

"Well... Thanks for saving me, by the way. I don't know what you said to the snake, but you said it just in time."

"I told him to stay away, and that you were my ally. He won't attack you again."

Tom suddenly seemed to realize what he was saying. "Why aren't you questioning why I can speak parseltongue...?"

"It makes sense, in a way. You're Slytherin's heir, who liked snakes, right? And I mean, it isn't the only crazy thing I've seen this year." Elliott smiled softly. "If a book can try to kill me, my best friend can very well talk to snakes."

And I can see one's future when I touch them, thought Elliott. He didn't say it out loud, though.

"This is giving me hope, Elliott." Tom paused, lost in thoughts. "If I can open the Chamber of Secrets... Who knows what else I could do?"

"You could do anything," answered Elliott. He looked down. His friend wasn't like him. He was powerful, smart and had talent. He didn't have a childhood which messed him up or cursed powers.

"Of course, with you at my side, I'm sure no one will ever be able to stop us."

The blonde glanced at Tom in surprise.

"Why would you want me?" he asked, even if he knew he shouldn't. "You are gifted, Tom. Why would you ever want someone like me by you? I'll only give you trouble. Just this year, you had to save me twice from death."

"What do you mean? You know more advanced spells than anyone else I know." Tom frowned.

"Yeah, because I have been forced to learn them over the years! Not because I wanted to, or because I was good at it. Every talent I have, it's because of my psychopath of a father."
