As soon as herbology finished, Elliott and Tom went to their common room to get the things necessaryto make the horcrux successfully. Tom had volunteered to be the one to try it first. Even if Elliott had wanted to try it first, he couldn't: he hadn't been the one who killed someone.
They took the parchment holding the instructions and the bag filled with various ingredients needed for the potion. Tom was supposed to bring an object of some sort which would hold a part of his soul. They walked to the second floor and entered the girl's lavatory.
No girl dared to go there since the murder. They all believed the place was haunted by Myrtle's spirit. Perhaps they were right, because the duo heard soft cries coming from one of the stalls.
"Shouldn't we go see her?" asked Elliott.
"And say what?" replied Tom. "Oh, sorry for killing you?"
Elliott didn't answer and watched Tom sigh and whisper in Parseltongue to open the Chamber of Secrets.
Maybe it wasn't the best idea ever to open once more the Chamber, but they had nowhere else where they could be alone for a long time. After the killing, Dumbledore had been watching Tom even more closely. They couldn't do it at night; the ghosts had been summoned to patrol the corridors.
The lavatory opened and revealed the Chamber's secret opening. Tom crouched down and looked at Elliott.
"Shall we go?"
The blonde nodded and his friend disappeared in the darkness. He sat down too and put the bag of ingredients on his lap. He took a deep breath and let himself fall as the Chamber's opening closed behind him.
The descent was as painful as it had been the first time. Elliott decided that he definitely hated it. He rose from the black-tiled floor. Tom was waiting for him near the corridor which led to the basilisk's room. He quickly joined him and they walked to the main large room.
It looked exactly the same as it had been before, except for the small cauldron standing in the middle. Tom had mentioned that he had managed to sneak in a cauldron so that they could easily make the potion.
"Where's the basilisk?" asked nervously Elliott. He did not trust the creature since it had tried to eat him.
"Probably hiding somewhere," answered simply Tom as he took the bag from his friend.
"Where the hell can a thirty foot long snake hide in an empty room?!"
Tom laughed.
"Stop stressing out! I've told you before, it won't attack you again!"
"We never know," replied Elliott, crossing his arms.
Tom simply rolled his eyes and started putting the ingredients in the cauldron. Elliott read the instructions while Slytherin's heir made the potion. After a good twenty minutes of cutting stuff, putting stuff and mixing stuff, the potion started bubbling softly.
"Is it supposed to react like that?" asked Tom, mixing the substance another time.
"It says that it'll start having bubbles when it's ready. You have to stop mixing it, though."
Tom did as he was told and took out his wand.
"What next?"
"Do you have your object?" asked Elliott. Tom smiled and took out a leather journal.
"What is it?" the blonde sorcerer said.
"My diary. I finished it yesterday." Tom flipped the pages and the blonde Slytherin could see that the pages where filled with ink.
