Search for the Zodiac

Alright...more research!

I get off my bed and walk over to my computer desk.

Now...what should I look up?

"Ooh! I have an idea..."

I go to google's search bar and type in "Bryan Hartnell".

Apparently he's an actor now... Wow... And to think that he was only in college when he encountered the Zodiac...

I click a link and scroll down the page.

So it was Cecelia Shepard who saw the Zodiac's face...not Hartnell...

The website says that Shepard died a day later. She gave a description but that was pretty much it. They say investigators call the crime "brutal".

I go to another link and it says that the man who approached Hartnell and Shepard that day was somewhere around 6 feet with a "heavy build" and "weighed more than 210 pounds". They say that they found some size 10 1/2 Wing Walker shoe prints around the area.

Maybe I could try to match that description with one of the suspect's...

In a recording of Hartnell talking, he says that the last composite sketch of the Zodiac Killer that was released was "as accurate as any of them...".

According to one article, Shepard and Hartnell had a conversation with the Zodiac and were tied up as well. They say that the Zodiac had a gun but only used it to induce fear in the couple. He used a knife most likely so he wouldn't attract the attention of anyone who happened to be in the area. While they were all talking, the Zodiac mentioned escaping from Deer Lodge Prison in Montana.

I open another tab and look up "Deer Lodge Prison Montana" just to make sure that it's a real place. It is but it's mainly called Montana State Prison.

I close out the "Bryan Hartnell" tab, go to my open google tab and search "Kathleen Johns".

One website says that she died in 2002. But it does give some interesting information. Some time after she was abducted by the Zodiac, she told officers that he actually seemed nice during the first 30 minutes of the ride. (Kathleen Johns had gotten picked up by the Zodiac after her car broke down.) She didn't start getting worried until he threatened the life of her baby by saying "I want to throw the baby out of the car."

Well that certainly adds onto the fear meter...

"Ok...what else?" I find myself saying aloud.

According to the website some things weren't even recorded by the police she reported to kidnapping to.

What type of cops are they?! They did a terrible job retrieving and recording information from Johns. She was the victim of the kidnapping. She was the one person that had the most information about the events... Man...what were they thinking?
