Half A Heart - Poem

Half a heart, half a mind, I half look at our photo sometimes,

The time lingers on, mid balance, like dew in the air, half of me wants you to be here,

Half a man, half a heart, I wish I told you I love you right from the start,

I've got half an arrow in my chest, I use to be whole, but half is what am at my best,

Half a smile, half a look, you latched upon me like a hook,

You broke me in half, you ripped the pages out of me like a book,

I am half heart, I am half a man, I can barely look, I can barely stand,

Half of me types in your number, my thumb lingers over the call button,

Half of me turns away, half of me notices the clouds are grey,

Half of me doesn't know if my pain will ever go,

Half of me doesn't care, you let me go,

I am half, I am not me without you,

I care, I want to go around, I know your broken, you don't make a sound,

I hear your feet move along the floor, your reaching the door,

I tell you what I've wanted to always, I am half a man, I am half a heart, the break up tore me apart, please be mine again, I will be okay If I can be again your man, my half a heart can fix's it self, my half a soul can mend its self, I can be whole again, we can stitch each other up, we can mend what we lost, I don't want to be with half a heart, I want to go back where we once started.
