A line of stitches ran across my knuckles. Clarke was sitting next to me on the edge of what seemed to be a hospital bed. My legs swung back and forth as I struggled against the restraints that were holding both our wrists down against the bed.
"Where the fuck are we?" I growled under my breath. Clarke gave me a look before replying
"I'm sick of this!" She whined. The door at the end of the room opened, an older man walks in followed by guards and a doctor.
"Hello, Clarke and Slaydher. How are you two girls feeling?" He smiled
"I'd feel a hell of a lot better if my hands weren't tied to a bed." I replied venom laced in every word.
"Or if we knew where the hell we were." Clarke added
"Ah you both were hesitant to talk until met by authority. A skill picked up by the savages, no doubt." Ah hell no. I may be a savage but I sure as hell don't need you to tell me. Authority, really? I could snap this dudes neck like a tooth pick. I move my eyes up to meet Clarke's to see that we are both having the same thought. I hold in a laugh as the man continues.
"Before I begin Maya has something to say." He states while gesturing toward the brunette girl that Clarke almost killed.
"You two were the next ones to be out of the quarantine. Another ten minutes and you would've-" The older man cuts her off by clearing his throat "I'm not pressing charges." I let out a light laugh before just smiling at my feet. The old man shots me a disgusted look
"You think this is funny?"
"Might I ask what charges would be pressed? I mean what are you gonna do lock us in a prison? Because I you pretty much already succeeded by keeping us in... where ever the hell we are since that seems to be to difficult for you to answer. Or what? Are you gonna kill us? Because please, go right ahead. Take me out of my misery." Still showing no emotion towards anyone or anything the words slip out of my mouth like nothing. Clarke gives me a horrified look, as the man does the same. He begins to lecture about how he's trying to help us safe and how this place is the best thing for us. Suddenly Maya moves to a different bed and the guards make there way towards us undoing are restraints.
"Dante Wallace." The old man states before putting his hand out, Clarke hesitates but shakes the hand while I just stare at the liquid on it.
"Oil paint?" I question. Dante looks at me before letting out a light chuckle and smiling to himself.
"That's right, you two know a thing or two about art as well."
"Who told you that?" Clarke demands jumping to her feet.
"Your people did." A panicked look then came across Clarke's face.
"Where's my watch?"
"I'm sorry, but we can't let contaminated items inside Mount Weather." Mount Weather. Why the hell are we trapped in Mount Weather?
"How many of us are here?" Clarke questions
"Forty-eight, including you two. Girls, you've got it wrong, you're not prisoners, we saved you." He states
"Well, in that case you wouldn't mind if we leave." I state while standing up
"If there were forty-eight of us here, we still have people out there." Clarke finishes.
"The patrol brought in everyone they could find." He says while shaking his head. I roll my eyes as Clarke continues.
"And what about the Ark? It came down last night."
"We saw its crash site of a thousand square yards, there were survivors. We will bring them in too." He explained.
"I want to see my people." I demand
"I would too." He then glances toward two of the guards in the background. They nod before they begin to roll a box into the room, opening it to reveal an array of clothing.
"Change and meet me in the hall." With that, he left, bringing the guards along with him. Clarke lets out a frustrated sigh before grabbing cloths to change into. I grab a heel, curling my hand around the stilt before snapping it off. Clarke gave me a glance and then did the same. We both change, Clarke into a pink sweater, white clean jeans, and a pair of white combat boots, and me into black ripped jeans, a white t-shirt, and white sneakers. We both grab a leather jacket to zip up over ourselves, Clarke grabs a white one and I grab a black one. We give each other a look before stepping into the hallway and hearing a loud rumble
"Sorry about the noise, hydro electric power from the dam. Fresh water from our own underground reservoir, Fresh food from our hydro power farm." Dante explains
"I don't understand. You're on the ground, you know it's survivable, why would you stay here?" Clarke asks in confusion
"It's not survivable for us" he spoke. Clarke and Dante go into a deep conversation about the topic, while I try my hardest to watch exactly where we are coming from. Suddenly we approach an elevator, Dante holds his arm out
"Please." Clarke and I both hesitantly enter the elevator. The doors close and before Dante presses a button he turns to us.
"First, give me the heels." He states with an open palm. We both give him a confused look before slipping him the heels. I chuckle and lean my back against the metal wall.
"You know stalking does not seem like something someone who is helping us would do." I state while closing my eyes
"You're not fighting for your life anymore. You've made it. Welcome to Mount Weather." With that, the door finally opens revealing a new hallway. We follow Dante as we round a corner,
"Slaydher! Clarke!"
