Chase's P.O.V
//...//

I get my stuff out off my locker and make my way down the hallway. I don't have any time to waste because I told Ashley to meet me at our spot and I don't have a car. It would be stupid if she got there first, then I would be meeting her, and that's not what I said. Getting back on track, I asked her to meet me at the spot so we could talk.

I know I've been a dick all day, but you would too if she did to you what she did to me. Then again it was a whole summer ago, but you don't know what she did at least not right now. The point is I need to get to the spot so I can talk to her whether I'm mad at her or not because she was my best friend at one point and I won't admit it, but I miss her. Well technically I just did, but I won't admit it to her.

I made it all the way down the hallway before I was stopped by the jocks I hung out with today. Don't ask me why because I honestly don't know. I've lost like half of my brain cells just talking to them today.

"Hey, Chad!" One of them, Trevor, said his voice louder than needed. I flinch slightly as he slaps me on the shoulder. It didn't hurt, I just wasn't sure what he was actually going to do.

"It's Chase," I say rolling my eyes and begin walking again, this time Trevor and his friends joining me. We've been going to the same school all our lives and he still doesn't know my real name. In fact, we never even talked until today.

"Right, listen, me and the guys are going to the court, You in?"

"Nah, I have to go and talk to someone - it's important." Speaking of importance, it's important for me to leave now because I can see Ashley's purple hair leaving the building as I answer the question.

"Who? That dorky girl you're always with?" He said laughing and hitting one of his friends on the arm.

"She's not dorky, she's just always in somebody's business. Trying to save something when she needs to get a grip and worry about herself." I say ranting to myself. I probably shouldn't be talking about her behind her back, but it was true.

"Oh, we're talking about Ashley? The bitch can hardly pick a personality. One day she's emo,the next day she's a prep and sometimes hipster." Someone chimes in. I furrow my eyebrows because what do they know about clothes.

Okay, this is not the fucking gossip circle, this conversation can end now.

"So, you know you would still hit that." Someone adds and I roll my eyes in annoyance.

"I mean, she does have a really nice ass." They all laugh in agreement and I just keep moving ahead open the school doors finally stepping outside.

"Okay, you can stop talking now," I say getting agitated.

"Oh come on you're her best friend you know you want to. You probably have already." First off, she's not my best friend at the moment. Secondly, alright fine I may have wanted to like three years ago...but not anymore.

"I said, you can stop!" I state putting an emphasis on 'said' to get my point across.

Walking down the steps I hear someone mumble, "Damn you're crazy, no wonder we didn't want to hang out with you before."

I turn around,"What?"

"I said you're crazy," Trevor repeated walking down the steps approaching me,"Are you gonna do something?" He moved closer and pushed me.

I heard someone yell "Oh shit! A fight!" as I felt a sharp pain in my jaw. I hold my face and groan in pain while a crowd forms closing us in. All I said was what, if anything I should have thrown the first punch for being the one who was insulted.
