Jai's P.O.V
//Food isn't for throwing//

"Jaison don't forget to take the trash out." My mom yells from the kitchen.

"Dina can do it," I yelled back before grabbing my book bag and dashing out the front door. I know my sister is going to give me a lot of shit for sticking my chores on her, but I'll just deal with it when I get home today. No use worrying about it now. Somehow I always manage to get out of my chores which is technically unfair to Dina and my other siblings, but I like to think of it as my reward for being the eldest sperm. Well, I have an older brother but he's at college so he doesn't count.

I wish my mom could get me a car now. It's been a year since I got my driver's license. Honestly, I don't even know how I passed the test, but I did. I've been taking rides from Ashley since I don't have a car. She doesn't seem to mind, considering I'm one her best friends, but I still want my own car. There's no way I can get a girlfriend without one. No girl wants a scrub.

Ashley's house was just a few minutes away from mine. Which was really convenient on my behalf because she always had food.

Only because she is the only child and lives with just

her dad. In my house, I have three brothers and two sisters so food was something you had to battle for. We can't even keep a gallon of juice for a day. It's tragic.

When I finally get to Ashley's apartment, I start up the fire escape not wanting to interact with her dad. He doesn't like me for some reason. I head up the fire escape and through her window, that she always kept open.

She was sound asleep. Her head was hanging halfway off the bed and her blankets were on the floor. She was such a bad sleeper.

"Rise and shine, " I say shaking her. I sigh to myself knowing how much of a deep sleeper she was.

Ashley's p.o.v

"Rise and shine." I hear a voice yell while shaking me obnoxiously. Assuming it was my dad I yawned and said, "10 more minutes, dad."

"Ashley wake the fuck up we have school in 20 minutes." The voice yelled causing me to fall out of bed. I then realized it was Jai when I opened my eyes.

"Shit." I groaned getting up.

"Why are you here?" I asked confused although I should be used to him coming through my window by now.

"I'm always here in the morning." He says sitting in my chair.

"Ok, but we have a door for a reason Jai," I mumbled.

"Doors are no fun." He smiles. I playfully rolled my eyes at him.

"Go wait downstairs I'll be ready in 10 minutes," I say before grabbing his arm and pulling him out my room.

"Is your dad downstairs?" He asks nervously. I could understand why. My dad hated him with a burning passion.

"No," I say although I wasn't 100% sure.

"Hurry up, " He tells me before disappearing down the steps.

I quickly take a shower and do my makeup before getting ready. I wear a black crop top, whitewashed jeans and my red converse. Afterward, I grabbed my book bag and few papers of my desk before heading downstairs to get Jai.

When I walk downstairs in see my dad with a stern stare directed at Jai.

Shit.

I don't know why my dad hates Jai. There was no reason, that I'm aware of. Anytime Jai would come over or if I'd even mention his name, My dad would mumble something under his breath and turn away.
