Ashley's P.O.V
//About her//

It was cold wait, no it wasn't cold. I was cold.

It was almost pitch dark. The only source of light was the moon, a few broken car headlights flickering on and off, and the street lights. It was like every scene during a horror movie where the killer would be lurking in the shadows messing with the victim's head.

I knew where I was. I was in my head. I've had the same dream for a while now. The buildings represented my memories-The taller the building the more vital it was to me. I would open the building doors and I'd be greeted with memories; the sad, happy, scary, tragic.and so on. Every door was always open, until right now.

I saw a small red house flat the middle of the street. My heart started beating quickly. My hand flew to my neck, where I kept my mom's necklace she gave me, Which was a small red house. I couldn't feel it. I don't move an inch after but I guess in a dream world it doesn't matter because I found myself at the doorstep of the house reaching the doorknob. I tried twisting it, but it wouldn't budge. I tried again and again with the same results. In a flash of light, I was to the window of the house looking inside. My breath hitched and tears started to fall down my cheeks.

"Mommy?"

She was sitting down facing away from me. "Mom," I yelled banging the window hard as I could. "Mom!" I yelled even louder. She didn't even turn around.
-

"Ashley, wake up." I felt strong hands shaking me. I  tried to imagine maybe softer hands and part of me hoped that when I turned around maybe I'll see my mom like I did when I was younger. I would see her smiling down at me. I-

"Ashley?!" The voice yelled frantically. I instantly jumped up.

"Yes," I said as an instinct. It was my dad.

"Are you ok? I heard you yelling from down the hall." His face covered with worry.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I sigh clearly not, beads of sweat covered my forehead wearing a sweater to bed didn't seem like such a good idea now.

"You know you can tell me anything." He smiles looking at me hopefully.
"It was another dream about mom," I admitted.

"oh." He mumbled his eyebrows scrunched together,"Do you want to talk about it?" He asked I knew he didn't want to. Mom was a subject that we barely talked about ever since she died.

"No it's ok, Go back to bed," I tell him forcing a smile. He kissed my forehead before leaving. My room was completely silent and pitch dark. Suddenly memories that I didn't want to relive came back.
-
I remember myself being half awake before my mom came into my room and told me to hide. I wasn't that young and I realized this was something important.

Right after she left. I hid under my bed making sure my feet were hidden also. I suddenly heard a loud banging sound with my father yelling. I didn't think too much of it until I heard a loud sound that echoed throughout the house. Tears began to swell in my eyes. I heard more crashing and yelling I was terrified.

Being careful not to make a sound, I revealed myself from my hiding spot. I quickly tiptoed to my parent's room using their phone to call 911.

I was positive this was an emergency.

My fingers trembled as I typed in the three numbers and hit the call button.

"Hello, what's your emergency?" A lady answered

"It's an emergency, I-I don't know what's happening b-but I heard gunshots and my parents yelling  p-please Hurry." I cried.I told the address and I hung up.

More tears rained down my face as the sounds got louder. I remember telling myself that I would stay upstairs, but the next thing I remember afterward is me being downstairs seeing my mom laying on the floor with blood pooling from her head and my dad cradling her crying out it should have been him. That is the last thing I remember, I don't know if I passed out or just forgot everything afterward but that is as far as my memory can go.

-
I must've fallen asleep again because I was awakened by something- someone falling in my room. I quickly jumped up and grabbed the nearest object within my reach. Turning around I realized there was no use for it.

"Jai what the fuck?!" I whisper-yell not wanting to wake up my dad.

"What?" He asks getting up as if there was nothing wrong.

"How did you get in here?" I ask actually really curious. He gives me a sheepish smile pointing to my open window. I raise my eyebrow at him. "Unbelievable," I mumble.

"Well Goodmorning to you too." He says rolling his eyes sitting at the edge of my bed. "You look a mess." He adds snickering.

"I bet you don't look like Sunshine and rainbows when you wake up." I point out.

"I woke up like this." He laughs wiggling his eyebrows.

"Fuck off," I grumble.

"Well get ready loser we are going out," Jai tells me.

Not today I'm tired, Go ask chase." I whine.

"But see...I did, and he is busy." Jai said putting a heavy emphasis on "Busy." I didn't really question it because quite frankly I didn't want to know.

"Ugh fine," I said giving in I didn't really have a choice because he would honestly annoy my death if I didn't go with him, besides he's one of my best friends.

"Great. I'm going to find out if Bea wants to hang out also." He says going back out my window. I think I should get into the habit of locking it.

I lazily head to my bathroom to take a shower and brush my teeth. I got dressed wearing a pair of black skinny jeans and a yellow flannel. I put my hair in a simple ponytail and did my makeup and just as I was done I heard a knock at my window. I walk over hesitantly opening it. It was Jai as expected.

"Come let's go." He says motioning for me to follow him.

"Um like any civilized person I'm going through my front door," I tell him rolling my eyes.

"Ugh but then everyone is going to come to the front." He groans.
"Everyone? I thought it was just Bea. " I say in confusion.

"Well...see...I went to Bea's house and Joslyn was there so I invited her.

"Alright." I shrug. I write a quick note to let my dad know where I went and I then follow Jai down the fire escape stairs. I see Bea and Joslyn taking an awkward follow down below. I give them both a "Hey."

"Ok loser there's an all you can eat buffet downtown and we're going, Each person is 15 dollars if they're under 17, So Ashley, and I are now 16," Jai announces.

Bea then proceeds to say "Nah I rather go to the mall."

"Same," mumbled Joslyn

Jai looks at me as if he was waiting for me to disagree with Bea and Joslyn.

"Yeah, the mall," I said agreeing.

"How dare you, I have stood by your side since forever." He says dramatically.

"There's food at the mall." I point out.

"Yeah but it's overpriced and it depresses me that a pretzel is almost 5 dollars." He pouts.

"I'll buy you food."  Bea offers.

"I love you so much." He smiles hugging her tightly. She releases herself from his hold laughing. "Good know."

"Alright come on I'll drive." I smile
