The ymbryne led us into the room, and pointed us to four chairs that were lined up next to the long mahogany table. I pushed Nico in front of me, sitting him down on one of the inside chairs, Percy sitting next to him. Ezra took the other outside chair, folding his black wings neatly behind himself.
I glanced around at the peculiars that were facing us from the other side of the table. They all looked like normal children except for one, whom I could guess was invisible due to the fact that there was no head peeking out of the messy collar. I looked down the line and caught one if them staring at me.
He had blond hair and blue(?) eyes, and he was wearing a finely tailored suit. He was kinda cute. I almost giggled when I noticed his top hat, every time I see one of those I have flashbacks to my favorite music video of all time (I put the video up top, it's Panic! At The Disco). Now I'm gonna have little Brendon Uries dancing around in my head with their perfect eyeliner and weird costumes.
The boy saw that I had caught him looking at me and looked away quickly, rubbing his neck as his cheeks turned slightly pink. Miss Peregrine cleared her throat and the other peculiars shushed themselves and stared up at her with big eyes, every once and a while trying to catch a glance at us.
"Children, if you have not already guessed, we have some new wards. They have come a long way from Miss Kingfisher's loop, and they will be staying with us for a while. I ask that you treat them kindly as they have just witnessed an event that we only have nightmares about."
The peculiars nodded slightly, then turned their heads to face us. I shifted awkwardly in my seat, not sure of what to do. "Please introduce yourselves, we haven't got all day dears." Miss Peregrine spoke up.
I cleared my through and straightened my posture. "H-hi, my name is Iris Alcatraz. I'm a metal bender." Miss Peregrine motioned for me to go on. "Show them what you can do, darling."
I took a deep breath and locked my gaze on the single fork that was laid out in front of me, almost as if it was meant for me. I watched as it rose into the air and floated over to Ezra. Ezra smirked and grabbed the fork out if the air, breaking my concentration.
"Hey!" I whined. "Is that all you got Alcatraz?" He threw the fork at me. My reflexes kicked in, and I felt myself shift into titanium just as the fork reached my arm.
A choruses of 'WHOAH's and 'cool!'s ran over the peculiars, except for one who sat at the end, playing with a doll. "Eh," he groaned. "I've seen better."
I awkwardly shifted out of titanium. Everyone was staring at me, except of course, the doll boy. I don't even think he's looked at me yet anyways. Suddenly, everyone erupted in applause. I blushed, and did the one thing I'm best at in these situations.
I slid out of my chair and went beneath the table, shuddering from the amount of attention I was receiving and the amount of awkwardness I was emitting.
(Guys that's literally me tho^^)
