Minutes after the fights and after a massive force brushing the woods, Rudy and the female Seven Knights came to find Kris. They managed to pinpoint his location through the fragments; they also found Jave and Spike with him. It seemed that the two helped out in wiping out the enemy, but it was surprising to find them lying on the ground: weak and in pain.

Rudy ran to Kris to check up on him as the others went to help the other two. Eileene waited for Spike to regain consciousness. Rachel helped Jave up, who seemed to be the one who was less hurt. She looked around the place, picking up the poor dragon, to see the massive trace of battle as she waited for him to shake dizziness off his head.

"Ouw, what was that?" Jave kept himself sat on the ground, only to look for his pet, "Red? Red!"

Rachel brought him the unconscious creature. "He's here. Anyway, what happened? Did the Core show up?"

Jave held his head as he recalled the events. "Ah, one of them was holding this chest. Something came out of it- like a black sphere. Then it went straight to me- maybe because I'm the closest one to it. Of course Red blasted it away, but" -he gasped- "it exploded." He looked around. "That thing did this?"

"Looks like the blast hit Kris and Spike, too." Eileene chuckled lightly as she helped the axman up. Her expression changed. "I wonder what that Core is really made of. I doubt it's just pure energy."

"It's not pure energy. Those are souls." Spike shook his head once. "Jave broke the sphere, but it was able to release something. The impact threw us away." He turned to Kris and ran to him upon seeing that he was still out. He joined Rudy and waited for the other to gain consciousness. "Kris?"

The rest came to them before Rudy frowned. "He's not waking up. I'm taking him to the Goddess." He carried Kris on his back. "You can wait for us somewhere, or you can come with me."

The Knight started walking only to be intercepted by the natives of the Mystic Woods. They looked agitated but scared. Rudy seemed surprised, but he only frowned at them. The King of Slimes rolled in front of the natives.

"That's the same thing that came here days ago! So you're the real target of those things!"

"That's right." Rudy gave them a cold glare. "But I don't have time for you right now. It's either we're destroying you or you'll let us leave."

The Goddess' hand ran gently on Kris' face as Elena squinted, the man cradled in her arms. She had heard the story from Rudy and the others. She looked at the Knight who could not even raise his head- and to those who were kneeling in presence. She directed her words to them. "Seven Knights, it is alarming to know that you gathered here today. It seemed that the doubt and fear of years ago is catching up with us. The undead are causing trouble in an attempt to recreate the darkness core."

She turned to Rudy momentarily before speaking more to all of them. "With Mystic Woods being the center of their activities, I must ask you to stay close." She looked back at Kris. "Even though today was supposed to be a special day" -she lifted her face to see them again- "we shall be wary of our enemy. They are out there and waiting for another chance to strike."

The noble started moving, only to open his eyes again. The face of the disappointed Goddess told him a number of possibilities- so he remained quiet.

Elena put him down before walking away. "You should rest for now. Another battle awaits."

The group was silent for a while until they decided to walk out of the tower. Outside, they gathered again.

"In the end, we didn't get to see Dellons. I wonder where he is at a time this." Eileene tutted as she looked around.

"I still can't believe something made of souls can damage us like this." Jave consoled his head. "I feel so weak after that thing hit me." He turned to Spike. "Should we tell them your other concern, Spike?"

The axman hummed. "Maybe it would help." He looked at everyone. "Mother- Queen Lania of the Frozen Land- owns a mirror that could transport anyone anywhere. It was stolen from her a week back; then I heard about these orchestrated attacks. I think the same person who stole the mirror is using it to transport the undead to the Mystic Woods."

"That makes sense, to be honest." The empress snorted. "Though I still don't get why they keep on attacking Rudy and Kris, knowing that they are strong enough to fight them somehow." She glared at the two who were too quiet. "Unless they're hiding something from us."

Spike stared at thetwo as well. "Mother did say something about the fragments inside ourbodies. Like" -his eyes grew narrower- "the one filled with the mostdarkness can be used to awaken something apocalyptic."
