"Nevaeh, get up." I heard a soft voice say. "Nevaeh, get up, I have some news for you." The same voice said while the person was shaking my body. I slowly, groggily opened my eyes to see the person was Ethan.

"Have you found a place for me to stay yet?" I asked him in a sleepy voice.

"We haven't been able to get a hold of any family members but we do have a place for you to sleep. But that's not what I need to tell you. Nevaeh, we found your father. We went to where he's been staying, and we found him outside of the place dead. I'm sorry Nevaeh, but if we don't find any family members to take you in then we are going to have to send you to an orphanage. I am very sorry for the loss of your family." As soon as I heard that my father was dead all the events from earlier came crashing back to me. It was hard to pay attention to the rest of what he said but I had. And I kind of wish I hadn't.

With a blurry vision from the tears and a shaky voice I asked, "where will I be staying to night?"

"You are going to be staying at my house. Since no family members are available and the safest option that's where your going," Ethan said sullenly. After he said that he stood back up and gestured for me to follow him. I got up and I felt like a zombie, I trudged behind him all the way back to his car where we had gotten in and off to his house. When we arrived I looked at the clock on the dash, it was 1 in the morning. I would have been shocked but didn't have the energy to be. We both had gotten out at the same time since I rode in the front of the cop car this time. As we walked up to the door he dug the key out of his pocket so we wouldn't have to wait longer in the cold night air. When we got inside Ethan asked, "are you hungry?"

I just shook my head silently.

"Would you like to watch some TV?"

I didn't want to be rude but I was rather really tired and had a strange feeling in my stomach, "No, thank you, I just want to go to bed," I said as nicely as I could at the moment.

"OK then, follow me and we can get you to a room," he tried to say that in a happy voice but I could tell he still felt guilty and felt drained of energy as well. He pointed to the first door on the left in the hallway and said, "this is the bathroom and your room is across from it," he said while opening up the door. He flicked on the light and it was a pretty nice sized room, beige walls, white carpet and white bed with an end-table the had a clock and lamp on it. It was empty but nice.

"Thank you," I said in a quiet, tired voice.

He gave me a small smile and said, "your welcome. If you need anything I just a few feet away, holler and I'll be here in a flash," and with that he left, closing the door as he did so but not all the way.

I looked around the room and when my eyes landed on the bed I stared at it for a few minutes. Did a small little sigh, turned off the light then walked over to it and laid down. I was laying there for what felt like hours but was actually half an hour when I heard snow crunching, like it was being walked on outside. I moved around a little bit but decided to let it go. When I stopped moving a few seconds later I had heard it again, so I tiredly and slowly turned and looked out the window but only found snow and shadows from the trees. I shrugged my shoulders and closed my eyes feeling the sleep come full force to me. I felt a cold breeze but was to tired to open my eyes so I just ignored it, going further into darkness. I then felt like I was watched so I opened my eyes again and all was the same, window shut, lights off. So I closed my eyes easily going into sleep. Right before I went to sleep completely I heard, "I told you we would come for you." I very groggily opened my eyes just a slit, and saw a pair of dark red eyes a few inches from my face. I think the sleepiness was clouding my brain cause I just rolled over with a grunt and went to sleep. It felt like I was being lifted but I figured it was just from my body finally going to sleep.

A/N: I'm sorry these chapters are so short. I didn't know one page was so long.! I'm trying to make them longer but it's pretty difficult. Opinions so far?
