The Soulless

Chapter 12

We sprinted away from base.

"Now what?" I sobbed.

"There is boat up in Washington," Brent started. "They will take us to Alaska, the soulless can't get there."

"Haha, the soulless wouldn't even try, they hate the cold." Jimmy added.

I kept walking ignoring the fact that we had about a months travel left.

Amara and Jimmy got really close. They slept together and ate together, they never left each others side.

Brent and I were huddled in a corner trying to keep warm.

Phoebe and Widget were playing around with a stick.

Jimmy and Amara were in a tree sleeping. They climbed it earlier to get some privacy. Don't know what that is about.

"Oh my god, Brent!" I screamed. I pointed to about thirty soulless coming our way. "Run!"

We ran into the forest, completely forgetting about Amara and Jimmy.

"Phoebe lets go!" I called. We started running faster.

We found a cave that was made by a tree almost falling down.

I started crying, but I had to stay quiet, I still heard some soulless coming.

What happened to Brent? Is he ok! He has to be ok! What about Widget? Or Jimmy and Amara! I'm back to step one.

I'm alone again.

I put my head in my hands and cried. By the time I was done crying I was asleep.

"Hey get up!" someone called.

"Brent?" I asked sleepily as I fluttered my eyes open.

"No, I'm Alex,"

"W-where's Brent?"

"Probably somewhere in a soulless's digestive system,"

"Way to let me down easy," I mumbled as I crawled out from the cave.

"What do you want?" I growled.

"I know how to save earth!" he exclaimed.

"What?"

"Take this." He handed me a plastic gun.

"A water gun?" I asked as I raised one eyebrow.

"It has a fluid in it that will destroy them and return them to their normal human body."

"What if I run out?"

"I'll teach you how to make it."

He brought me down to a river. Phoebe was thankful. She hasn't drank anything in a while, plus she caught a fish.

"So you fill it with water," he started. Then he handed me a knife. "Then with blood,"

"Woah woah woah!" I yelled. "I'm not gonna cu-" he slapped his hand over my mouth.

"Someone's coming," he whispered.

I snapped my fingers quietly and Phoebe came trotting towards me, but then she headed the other way, towards a, person?

It then got clearer, Brent!

"Brent!" I called. I ran to him and wrapped my arms around his neck. He picked me up and spun me around.

Then Amara and Jimmy came out with Widget in their arms.

"What happened?" I yelled as I ran up to Widget, his crimson blood was dripping on the ground.

"It was a dog, a soulless dog," Amara said with her hands trembling.

She was going to drop Widget. I slipped my hands underneath Widget as she collapsed onto the ground.

Jimmy and I set down Widget and he rushed to Amara, who was now on her knees sobbing.

I rushed back to Alex.

"So I have to cut myself!" I screamed. "That's perfect!"

"Well I've tested it!"

"You might need to test it again! Widget is turning!" Jimmy yelled.

I whimpered as I sliced the knife across my palm.

I watched as the red blood dripped into the water and made it turn a brownish reddish color.

"The dog turned, hurry up and shoot." I heard Alex mutter.

I pulled the trigger and the now brown water came out and hit Widget.

He whined and dropped to the floor. His black hair returned to the way it was before and he was Widget again.

We're gonna do it, we are going to save

Earth!
