The Soulless

Chapter 10

RECAP: When he opened the doors I couldn't believe what I saw...

Gold. Gold. Gold. Oh, and gold!

The bed was almost too high to get up on and it was made perfectly with golden bedding and it had four feather pillows on it.

In the corner of the room there was a vanity, I'm assuming it was Jessica's. It was golden with silver carvings.

In the other corner was the same thing except it was a mans dresser, so I assumed it was Brent's.

In the other two corners were plants with golden pots.

We also had a bathroom made out of pure diamond. It had a large jacuzzi and a big shower.

But then I walked into a baby room. It had a crib made nice and tightly with a teddy bear in the middle. There was a changing stand on another wall. Then a bunch of toys scattered around.

"Brent?" I asked, not knowing how to ask.

"Jess was, Jess was, pregnant..." he sighed. I saw a tear escape his eye.

My lip started to quiver and I ran to him and wrapped my arm around his waist.

"I'm sorry," I said in between sobs.

"I wouldn't have cared if she asked him to kiss her if she wasn't pregnant. But we were going to start a family." he explained.

I squeezes him harder, it wasn't fair that he had to go through that.

"What if we get rid of the baby room?" I suggested.

"And just have a random empty room?" he asked.

"Not necessarily,"

"Uh oh,"

"I kinda think that Phoebe deserved a room, I mean she saved my life, twice!"

"Fine I guess you are right,"

I smiled and jumped up and down.

"Can we go see Amara?" I asked.

He nodded and grabbed my hand. We walked out of the room to the door further down the hall.

I knocked three times.

"It's open! Here's a warning! It smells like wet dog!" I heard Jimmy shout.

We walked in and saw Jimmy and Amara giving Phoebe a bath.

All of a sudden Phoebe shook herself off.

"Oh god! It's in my mouth!" Jimmy yelled. "It's in my mouth! It's in my mouth!"

He ran to the bathroom and washed his mouth out.

Phoebe gave me one of those doggy smiles.

"Awesome dog," Jimmy said sarcastically.

They finished giving her a bath and then helped us set up her room.

We installed a doggy door through her room and through the one door that we enter to get to our room.

We gave her food and then went to get some dinner.

"So how'd you guys meet?" Jimmy asked Brent and I.

"Robert kidnapped me. Though they all had a part in it." I explained.

"And then Jess got mad at me and she stomped off to the woods and died." I explained.

"What about you two and Amara?"

"Phoebe and Evelyn saved her from

the soulless." Brent told him.

"Phoebe saved a girls life?"

"From a soulless too!"

We all laughed at Jimmy. He was talking about how him and his girlfriend got in a fight and now she has to work for him. She has to serve him and everything.

Brent and I walked into our room. We got changed and hopped in the bed. He gave me a kiss on the forehead and I fell asleep in his arms.
