Ashton's pov....

"Come on!" I say, punching yet another tree.

'This is your fault!' Shouts my wolf, Flame.

'My fault? MY FAULT?' I reply, 'you and your stupid mate got us into this mess!'

'She's your mate too idiot!' He yells. I sigh and slide into a sitting position.

"I hate this." I mutter.

I remember when I woke up in the room I was currently staying in. I didn't know where I was or how I got there, all I new was the sickly sweet smell of those leaches. Suddenly a girl walks in, smelling just like one of them, only not as bitter.

'Like lilies' is what my wolf had said.

I was used to people trying to get me, I just assumed she was too. I slammed her into the wall and demanded to know where I was. She coughed and met my eyes, and suddenly my wolf was chanting something I had never heard him say in such a passionate way, 'mate.'

"No no no no no no!" I shout, remembering once again what I had just screwed up.

'You should be happy, this is what you wanted all along!' Accuses Flame.

"Just shut up!" I say.

"I'm sorry?" Says Rose's "father," Lysander.

"Sorry, I wasn't talking to you. I just.... My wolf..." I try to explain.

"It's ok," he chuckles, "I've gotten used to it what with Rose and Rain."

I groan at the reminder if my mate and her wolf. Slowly, he kneels beside me.

"I'm guessing by your reaction, she's found out about you?" He asks.

"Yep." I sigh.

"You guys..... You've both just been sitting around beating yourselves up for the past few hours, why not just compromise?" He reasons.

"Well, I'm not good for her. All I'm gonna do is out her in danger." I explain, trying to say as little as possible.

"Son, she's a werewolf and a vampire... I don't think there is too much that can hurt her." He says with a know-it-all smile on his face.

I sigh, "fine, I'll go and talk to her." He smiles and pats me on the back before walking back inside.

'You heard him! Get your lazy butt inside!' Shouts Flame. I roll my eyes and run my hands through my hair.

"Let's get this mess over with."

'Come on, grow some balls!' Says flame, still pushing me to knock on her door.

'Im going I'm going.' I say, tentatively reaching a hand out and knocking.

"Hello?" Comes her melodious voice.

"Can I come in?" I say, leaning my head on her door. Nothing happens and I sigh in defeat. Suddenly, the door opens, leaving me falling head first onto the floor of my mates room. I grunt and roll onto my back.

In one look I take in her tearstained cheeks and bloodshot , yet beautiful, gold eyes. Her red hair is pulled into a adorable messy bun at the back of her neck. Still, you could tell how her past hour had been.

"You look great." I say, slightly sarcastic. She rolls her eyes,

"Thanks a lot, you look awesome yourself." She replies, pointing at my bloody knuckles.

"Oh, um, I was punching trees." I explain.

"Nice, so you gonna get up or what?" She sighs, shifting her weight onto one leg and crossing her arms.

'Thats so attractive...' Says flame.

'I know! Now shut up!' I reply, pushing myself up and dusting my knees off.

"I'm sorry." I say, scratching the back of my neck.

Rose's pov

My jaw drops to the floor, well ok not literally. But he apologized!

'He's not that bad! I told you!' Snobs Rain. I roll my eyes.

"You..... You.... You...!" I stutter.

"I'm sorry!" He says again, holding his arms out for a dramatic effect.

"I can't believe you!" I say. After all he's done, he thinks he can just come back, say I'm sorry and then all would be good?

'Admit it, you want to forgive him as much as I do.' Taunts Rain.

"I can't" I say, shaking my head.

"Please." He says, putting his hands on my shoulders.

"I'm tired!" I say, "go away and let me sleep!"

He sits there for a few more minutes with pleading eyes before sighing and walking out of my room looking dejected. I slam the door behind him and slide down it, beginning to sob again.

If this is what came with having a mate, I want no part of it.

'Give him a chance. He really cares for you, you know.' Rain says.

"Why does all of this happen to me? What did I ever do to have all of this come my way? I always tried to be good, I waited years for my mate and always loved my parents... And this is what happens." I sigh.

'You will be okay.' Rain says, comforting me and sharing her peace.

After crying more, I finally run out of tears and drift into a dreamless sleep.
