ONE YEAR LATER

"Thomas." A woman came into his room. "you have a visitor."

He looked up. it was Dr. Dane. She smiled softly at him. Thomas sighed standing up from his small bed next to the window. The room was small and bright. There was nothing in it except for his bed and a wardrobe. He walked out after her, their footsteps echoing in the empty hallways. Every now and then yelling could be heard and once a nurse ran past. Thomas kept his head down as he was led into the visitors room. It was empty besides from the boy sitting at the table in the corner, waiting for him. Thomas sat down, not saying a word.

"Hey Thomas." the boy said.

He didn't answer.

The boy sighed. "how have you been ?"

Still no answer.

"I went by his grave today. I said hi to him from you."

Thomas looked up. "why are you here Minho ?"

The dark haired boy smiled sadly at him. "Thought you might want some company."

He shook his head. "I just want you to leave me alone."

"you know I can't do that. Newt would have wanted me to look out for you."

Thomas felt the tears welling up in his eyes but he pushed them back angrily. No. He wasn't going to cry.  "Newt is gone. You have nothing to prove."

Minho sighed. "Look Thomas you're my friend I miss you, we all do."

"I said I want to be alone!" He yelled, anger rising up inside of him. His fingers tightened around the edge of the table. Minho reached out and covered his hand with his. He flinched, pulling his hand back as if his touch had hurt him.

"This isn't you, Thomas."

He smirked. "oh but it is now."

"We just want to help you. You need to work with the doctors Thomas or they will keep you here forever."

Thomas snapped. He jumped up kicking his chair. Minho jumped, startled at his actions.

"Leave!" He yelled at him. His voice low and dangerous. A security guard ran towards them and put a hand on Thomas' shoulder. He flinched turning around in one swift movement and punching the guy in the face. He stumbled back, reaching for his nose. Two more men ran towards him and grabbed his arms. "Let me go!" he yelled, kicking and trashing as they dragged him out of the room. It was no use they were stronger than him.

They stopped at a door and one of the man knocked. a buzzing sound was heard signaling that the door was now open. They dragged him inside and placed him on a chair in front of the desk. "thank you gentlemen. you can go now." Dr. Dale said sweetly. The men left but Thomas knew they were waiting outside the door in case anything happened.

Dr. Dale sighed staring at him for a while. Thomas hated this, he wanted to leave but he couldn't. "You are making this so hard for yourself Thomas, why won't you just work with me."

He ignored her. He always did. He had been here for 4 months. 4 months she had been trying to get through to him. To get him to talk. Talk about him, but he couldn't.

"Have you been taking your medication Thomas ?"

He rolled his eyes. "Don't act stupid, you watch me take them every single day."

Dr. Dale didn't react. "Thomas if you would just talk to me about how you feel I could help you but you keep shutting me out."

"I don't want to be helped. I just want him back."  He said. He felt the lump growing in his throat but he swallow it back.
