I walked all the way to a small town that had someone, well, some PEOPLE I know well. Stormy had been in the last town I was in, but everyone else was in this city. I couldn't help but smile as I remembered everyone's names; Delilah, Thorn, Reed, Lily, and Rosie. True, they were all my friends, and that all of us were named after flowers, but they lived separately throughout the large buildings.
Thorn, being a mechanic, used to work on the outskirts of town, but now works in the heart of the city. Rosie, a young, talented makeup artist, moved here when she found out a beauty salon was looking for some assistance. She now owns her own make up studio. Reed, well, let's just say he knows his way around women. For being a pervert and massive flirt, he always sneaks up on people and scares them. It apparently gives him some "fun". He is actually on the run from the authorities for a crime he seems oddly proud of. Then there was Lily, who was the best and youngest artist I had ever known. She could create anything from what she had, but she's broke, so she can't do too much. Finally, Delilah, she's kinda like the "mother hen" or "momma bear" of the group, owning her personal library in her own apartment. Not to mention that she's extremely intelligent and wise beyond her years. But the only downside to her is she gets angry pretty quickly, but is the first to try and give comfort when someone's in pain.
But I considered each of them to be very special to me. They were the ones who never judged me or were scared of me when they saw who- no, WHAT I really was. They accepted me for the person I am with loving and open arms. Even if we we're a whack job of young adults in our twenties, me being one of the oldest mind you, we all fit together like a puzzle; It was just meant to be this way.
I sighed mentally as I heard the noises behind the door; They had all gathered here to see me again- well, except for Reed and Stormy. I started to open the door, and realized that everyone, including Reed, were there. But I was right about Stormy being absent. Kinda surprised me, seeing them all there either smiling or just even acknowledging that I exist. It felt nice, a warm feeling in my heart arose as I saw them; the feeling that reminded me of home. I was tearing up as I saw them, not realising how much I had missed them. Running through the door to them, I was smiling and crying as they all embraced me, making me feel whole again. 'These few moments,' I said to myself, 'are moments I shall never forget.'
And with that, we celebrated a welcome back party. Everyone had laughed, talked, cried, ate, and even drank together as they were around me. I can't help at every time I see their smiling faces, I would cry. Because with every good thing in my life, something equally as bad would happen, and I was afraid of when it would strike.
