Chapter 10

━━━━━━━━━

"Bye guys. See you in a couple hours." Leo said as he stepped out of the car. I smiled and looked through the window.

"See you." Chase called as Leo shut the door. I sighed and slummed into my seat. My eyes still felt puffy from crying. Chase smiled softly before starting the car again. It took two minutes to get to our building.

"Are you going to be okay to go tonight? We can always move it to tomorrow." Chase pointed out. I sighed and nodded as I got out of the car.

"I just want to get all of this over with. I can't wait another day. We have literally been dating for less than a week and so much has happened. I just want things to slow down a bit, and maybe go back to normal." I explained as Chase took my hand and led me up the stairs. We walked into our apartment. I don't think I could ask for a better place to live. So much has happened here. I can remember the first time we checked this place out when finding a place to live.

"This is one of the apartments available in this building. It was the newest and most affordable so that's why I'm showing it to you." The realtor said as she led Chase, Davenport, my dad, and I into the apartment. Davenport and my dad, Douglas, are best friends from college. That's how Chase and I met.

"It's great. Why don't you kids look around while the adults talk numbers." Chase's dad said as the realtor led them into the kitchen. I sighed as Chase began to walk back down the hallway. I stayed in the potential living room for a minute, trying to picture myself living here. Why would Davenport and Dad want us to live here? By ourselves? We just barely graduated and I didn't even know where I was going to college.

"Bree, come here!" Chase called from down the hallway. I threw my head back as I followed the sound of his voice. Remind me again why I like this kid. Oh yeah, he's practically perfect. He's smart, funny, insanely adorable. I walked into an the empty bedroom where Chase stood looking around.

"I want this room. You can have the one across the hall." Chase explained as he gestured towards the room across the way. I frowned. Why did he get first pick?

"Tell me why I don't get to pick the rooms first?" I stated as I crossed my arms over my chest. He laughed as he made his way closer to me.

"Because I came back here first. What were you doing in the living room anyway? Picturing the potential couch that we could be sitting on for the next couple of years? We could make some serious memories in there." Chase teased. I rolled my eyes and moved into the room across the hall. He followed quietly. As much as I hated to admit it, I would have picked this room anyway. Not that I was surprised, Chase knew me like the back of his hand.

"Do you like this one or are we gonna fight to the death over mine?" Chase asked sarcastically. I turned to face my best friend of almost 13 years. I rolled my eyes at him as he smirked.

"No I'm not going to fight you for that room. I was just wondering why you got to pick first, that's all. And another thing, I don't even know if I'm going to live here. I have no idea if I got excepted to Mission Creek University or not." I explained as I walked around a bit. I made my way back out into the hallway where I saw a bathroom closer to the end of the hall. Only one bathroom? How on earth am I going to be able to share a bathroom with Chase? I'm just going to have to lock myself in my room while he showers. I shuttered at the thought. Get a grip Bree.
