Chapter 19

━━━━━━━━━

"How did you guys find this?" I asked as I took a seat next to Chase. There were two green benches on either side of the bonfire, dad and Davenport were on one while Chase and I were on the other. The roof was all concrete on the floor and there were little gardens everywhere. There were lights strung up all around and the streetlights were all around the house. Perry had a pretty big mansion.

"You come to enough of Terry's party's and you find out a few things about the house. This was here when she bought it and the gardener keeps it in check. She doesn't even know its up here." My dad explained as he messed with the logs in the fire.

"If she knew, she's turn it into some kind of cat sanctuary." Davenport shuttered at the thought. I laughed as I looked around. It was truly amazing up here. Sadly I could see our beloved leader principle Perry doing such a thing to such a beautiful place.

"Do you guys just come up here every time there's a party?" Chase asked in a teasing tone. They laughed before turning to each other.

"Most of the time. Unless we actually have a reason to stay down there. We need you kids to come more often so we thought we'd show you. This might actually give you a reason to show up every week. Or at least more than the once a year you guys have agreed to." Dad explained. I smiled as I looked toward our dads. This place was amazing. If it meant we could come up here every time Perry had a party, maybe Chase and I would start showing up more often.

"Could we explore a bit more before we make any decisions?" I asked hopefully. Chase smiled as he took my hand.

"Oh, yeah. Go right ahead. We'll be here." Dad replied as he leaned back on the bench. Chase stood along with me. We headed off to the right where a gazebo was placed in the corner. There was a little pond next to it with a miniature waterfall and fish swimming around. I led Chase up the stairs of the gazebo and dropped his hand. I ran over to the edge to see the view of the city. Everywhere you looked there were building lights. I've never been able to see the lights of mission creek before.

"This place is amazing." Chase whispered as he walked over next to me and rested his elbows on the railing. I smiled. This was way better than I thought it would be. I frowned as I felt a drop of water on my hands.

"Is it raining?" I asked quietly. Within seconds the rain started to get heavier. I laughed in delight as Chase looked up and smiled.

"I'd say it is." Chase said with a nod. I smiled and wrapped my arms around his neck. He quickly wrapped his arms around my waist.

"This is perfect." I whispered as I rested my head on Chase's chest. He laughed quietly before he placed his chin on my head.

"Of course it is. Anything is perfect with you." He whispered back. I smiled as I pulled away to look up at him.

"I love you Bree." He whispered as he moved closer to me.

"I love you Chase." I whispered as he closed the gap between us. You could hear the rain slowly falling harder. I knew that the bonfire our fathers had worked on was probably out by now, but I couldn't bring myself to care. Chase and I finally had our moment to kiss in the rain.

"Hey lovebirds! We better get back inside! We're going to be drenched!" Davenport yelled as Chase and I pulled away from each other. I laughed as I saw them attempt to run back to the party. Neither of them were exactly athletic and the were wearing suits.
