Chapter 14
━━━━━━━━━
"Do you seriously think you can beat me? I am the master of the ping pong." Leo boasted as we walked around the arcade. I rolled my eyes.
"Leo, last time we played ping pong you got a hand cramp and had to forfeit." I pointed out as Adam and I took a seat on the adjacent couch. Chase picked up a paddle and moved over to his side of the table. I smiled over at Chase. I already knew who I was rooting for.
"Yes, Bree. I do remember. But things change, people are able to improve their ping pong fanciness. I can take Chase with my eyes closed." Leo said confidently. Adam laughed as he stood up and motioned for me to follow.
"What flavor of shakes do you guys want?" Adam asked as Leo served the ball. Adam and I needed something to do.
"Oh, strawberry!" Leo said as he hit the ball back over to Chase.
"Bree do you want to share?" Chase asked as he concentrated on the ball.
"Yes, Chase my lovely boyfriend. Chocolate okay?" I said in a sarcastic tone. He smiled as Leo missed the ball.
"Yes, Bree. That would be wonderful. We'll met you guys over there in like... five minutes. This shouldn't take long." Chase whispered the last part to Adam and I. I laughed as Adam nodded knowingly. Leo frowned.
"Hey! You know I can hear you, right?" Leo yelled as Chase laughed and took his stance. Adam nudged me and began to walk over to the shake shop we were just at yesterday.
"So, you guys are generally cool with me now?" Adam whispered after we ordered. I shrugged as the cashier handed Adam the change.
"Kind of. I mean, last night was pretty weird. We still want to be friends though. We have a pretty cool group and I know for a fact both Chase and I aren't ready to give that up. You two mean a lot to us." I explained as we picked up the shakes and moved to a table. Adam nodded as he played with his straw.
"I could tell I would have to reprove myself to you guys, all three of you. But as long as I get a second chance... That's pretty much all I can ask for. Thanks for that, by the way." Adam added as he took a sip of his shake.
"You're welcome, Adam. Like I said before, were best friends, and Chase and I aren't just going to give that up. Yes, we do need confirmation of that from you, but we are willing to try again." I said reassuringly. I wanted Adam to know we weren't done with him just yet. I know he messed up be he did apologize. He was also able to prove that even though he had bad intentions, he actually was our friend.
"Cool, I'm ready for whatever you throw at me." Adam said with a sly smile. I turned around to see Chase laughing evilly as Leo reached down to pick the ball back up off the floor.
"How's it going with Chase so far?" Adam asked. I smiled as I turned my attention back to Adam.
"Amazing." I said with a bright smile. Adam laughed.
"I would assume so. You know since you two were making out on the couch-"
"Why did Leo have to tell everyone about that!" I yelled quietly. Adam chuckled as I calmed myself down.
"Hey, me and the kid had to talk about something on our way home last night. I had a few questions about what happened at the store yesterday, and he may or may not have told me a few interesting details." Adam said suggestively. I rolled my eyes. They were such gossips.
