Chapter 20

"Today is the fucking day!" I yell getting out of bed. I've been waiting for graduation since I started my senior year now the day is finally here. I get out of bed then begin preparing to go get my hair and nails done.

"Indyah you ready?" Tika yells out.

"Yeah hold up let me get my sandals on I'll be down in a second" I grab my phone then throw some sandals on.

"Today is your day baby sister are you ready?" Tika ask.

"Hell yes!" I say smiling.

"Is Mandi meeting us at the shop?" Tika ask.

"Yeah she getting Steven to drop her off" I say. I open the text August sent to me.

Baby: I can't wait to see you later , walking that stage I'm happy for you baby girl I love you.

Me: I love you too August can't wait to see you later.

We get to the shop and find Mandi already there. I walk in and greet everyone.

"Girl we made it!" Mandi says.

"I know at 3 we will officially be high school grads!" I exclaim.

"What you getting done?" Mandi ask.

"I'm thinking a bob maybe" I say.

"That'll be cute I think I'm going to get some long ass Brazilian hair flip it over my shoulders a stunt on these ugly hoes" Mandi says laughing.

"You're a mess" I say laughing.

"Indyah come on honey let's get you slayed" Christina says.

"Yes please do!" I say.

"Damn best friend you look amazing!" Mandi says.

"Thanks boo so do you" I say feeling anxious. I've been texting and calling August but he hasn't answered any of my text or calls.

"He's going to be here boo calm down" Mandi says.

They call our row to go take our seats. As we pass by I see Tika , Mandi's mother , friends . They yell our names. But no August still. I pull out my phone and text him one last time.

"Hey I know he'll be here just focus on this walk Indy" Mandi says holding my hand.

I smile "Thank you Mandi for keep me calm and always being there for me".

"Of course you're like the sister I never had love you to death" She says smiling.

"I love you too sis" I say.

They start calling people to walk. Once they make it to my row I get this nervous feeling in my stomach. Once they make it to Mandi's name she proudfully walk the stage.

"Indyah Robinson" The say.

I hear a ton of voice yell. I smile and walk the stage getting my diploma I then shake my principle hand.

"You're going to be great out there Indyah continue to sore" She says.

"Thanks principle Max" I say smiling. I walk down the stairs.

They give one last speech then let everyone go. Mandi I walk hand in hand going out the double doors looking for our family. She leads me out like she know where everyone is in this crowd of people.

"Oh my gosh" I say putting my hands over my mouth. I start to tear up at the view in front of me.

"Indyah , you've made me the most happiest man on earth, I don't know want to know how it feels to be without you. Every moment with you is amazing I don't want to lose you baby girl will you make me the luckiest man on earth and be my wife" August says.

I can't help the tears flowing down my cheek. I look over at Tika she smiles and mouths the word yes.

"Of course! Yes August I do" I say smiling.

"Thank you baby girl I promise to make you the happiest woman" He says putting the ring on my finger.

"You already do" I say smiling. August picks me up and spins me around. I start giggling , regardless of the crowd around us it feels like it only us.

"Congratulation baby sister ! August don't fuck up " Tika says.

August laughs "I won't dare" .

"Mandi you knew ? All of you guys knew ?" I ask.

"I didn't know till he texted me before we went to take our seats" Mandi says.

"Lets go do this celebration dinner!" Mandi says.

We all drive separately and meet up at Area 31. "Baby I love you" I say putting my hand on top of his.

Our fingers entwine , he brings my hand to his lips this kisses it. "I love you more future wife".

We all make our way inside then get seated. I sit next to August. I can't knock this smile off my face it's like the greatest feeling in the world. One day I'll be married to this man I'm madly in love with.

"Hey Taty congratulation what you doing here?" Mandi says.

"My family is over there, thanks congratulation to you guys as well and Indyah congratulation on the proposal you're a lucky women" Taty says.

"I know I am Taty too bad you couldn't get him right?" I ask.

"That's what you think baby girl that night we all hanged out , August and I had amazing steaming hot sex lord that night was good" She says smirking.

"The fuck no we didn't , man go on with that shit I don't look at you like that" August says with his face twisted up.

"August don't lie I know you remember that night I do it was great" Taty says.

I slide my heels off then push my chair back. "I'm tired of bitches like you trying to do stupid shit to break people up. See thing is I trust my man. I didn't trust you from day one so it'll be best if you take yo ass back over there" I say.

"Or what?" She ask.

"This" I say through gritted teeth. I start throwing punch to her face, none of that hair grabbing shit straight blows. Her soft ass hits do nothing to me. They finally yank me off her but not before I kick her in the face.

"Dumb bitch don't ever try me again!" I yell as I'm carried out the restaurant.

"Yo baby chill" August yells.

My breathing is heavy. I look at August then try to calm down. "I'm sorry I embarrassed you baby" I say putting my head down.

"You didn't you put that stupid hoe in her place , my little fighter" He says laughing.

I laugh "I love my ring baby" I say looking down at my hand.

"I got good taste don't I" He says.

"You sure do! I can't wait to move and start our lives together" I say.

"Neither can I baby girl" He says smiling it just looks so genuine.
