13} I went to the consults until we were sure that the baby was okay and that we had nothing to worry about. It was a relief knowing that the baby was okay so Devrick can stop threatening me like a child.

"Hey, how are you feeling?" Devil came into the living room, my feet crossed on the table as I watched TV and eating popcorn. He took his suit off, placing it on the sofa as he sat down next to me.

"Hey! Leave my popcorn alone." I told him as I turned the bowl to the side, laughing when he blow raspberries on my stomach. "Stop it! You're making me pee my pants. I'm serious Devrick!"

I put the bowl on the table and pushed him away, standing up as I wobbled to the bathroom. Being five months was hard, because I had a stomach ready to pop. I don't have an idea how this works.

I came out of the bathroom and stopped dead in my tracks when I saw the Devil of the Devil, Devrick's mother. What is she doing here? "Adriana darling, I can't believe I'm going to be a grandma. Devi." She smiled as she turned to Devrick. "I can't believe I will finally have a grandson."

I turned to look at Devrick with a look before turning to look at Devrick's mother. "Sorry to disappoint you but it's a girl." I told her with a fake smile, she has always been a mommy dearest.

She likes to change thing to get what she wants, and when it comes to Devrick oh boy. She will cut you open and watch you bleed without having one ounce of remorse. "Are you sure? Maybe there's a confusion. Our family line has always had a boy first born, it's just the way it is."

"We'll we're different and my baby is a girl." I gritted out, "And if you excuse me, my baby and I need some rest. Good night." I turned around and headed toward the stairs, walking up.

"I'll help you, mother. I don't want to be rude but I suggest you to leave. I just came home from work and I'm tired so." I turned around as Devrick walked away from his mother came to me, helping me to our room.

"I thought I could stay a few days." Her mother said and we stopped walking, my eyes glancing at Devrick warningly, his mother here will only make things chaotic and I don't want that for the baby.

"Sure." My eyes widened at that as I gave Devrick a look, it think I should go back into calling him Devil smh. "You can stay in one of the guest rooms, good night mother." He walked us toward our room and closed the door behind us.

"Are you kidding me?!" I exalted with my hands in the air, "She's going to make our lives a hell, she already did by arguing over the sex of our baby. Who does that? It's just a baby."

Devrick sighed, "I know baby, she'll be gone before you know it." He kissed my lips and brushed my hair back. "Did you felt that?" He asked me as he touched my stomach and I laughed at him.

"Of course I felt that, she's inside of me." I giggled, rubbing my stomach. "I'm tired, I was watching over a few magazines to make a list of the things I need. They're in the living room. Can you fetch them for me?"

Devrick nodded his head at me and kissed my forehead, pulling away from me. I smiled at him and turned around, heading toward the bed. I got in and turned around, sighing as I placed my head on the pillow.

The door closed behind me and I pulled off the sheets, walking toward the door and opening it slowly. "Mom, you can't come in my house unannounced." Devrick barked out at his mother.

"But Devi, I'm your mother. I don't need to announce when I come to visit my son do i? Should I remember you that I had to find out about my grandson,-"

"Granddaughter." Devrick barked out at his mother but took a deep breath, running his fingers through his hair.

"Are you even sure the baby is yours, last time I remember you were saying that she didn't even want to sleep with you and now she's suddenly pregnant?" I gripped the door at that, what she insinuating that I cheated?

"Mom!" Devrick yelled at her, "What kind of nonsense are you talking about? Of course she's mine. I don't have any doubts about that and neither should you. I'm sorry mother but if you think that because she's having a girl, I don't know what you came here to do."

"I still can't believe you're talking to me like that? I'm your mother for God sake's!" The devil itself exalted dramatically, acting manipulated like always. Before the tear game started, "I can't believe you're talking to your mother this way because of your mate. A mate that didn't even wanted you in the first place."

"Enough! Get out, get out of my house mom. Get out." Devrick pointed to the door, "Adriana was right, you're only here to make our lives a living hell." Devrick walked past her and headed toward the living room, grabbing the list.

"I never thought I would see this day coming, I'm so disappointed in you Devrick Stone." And I'm proud of you my Devil. "Mom, can you stop acting dramatic for once in your life? I can't believe that I'm now seeing your true colors."

I decided to step in, "Devrick?" He glanced up at me and her mother glared at me, "You! I knew you were trouble since you appear in our lives." His mother stalked up the stairs to where I was.

"Mom stop!" Devrick barked angrily at her, "No, she's taking you away from me. Can't you see what she is doing? You are my son, and I won't accept this girl breaking our bond!" She snatched my arm and yanked me toward him, shaking me.

"Let go of me!" I yanked my arms away but she managed to snatch them either way. "Mom stop! You're hurting my mate." Devrick said as he walked up the stairs. Everything happened in slow motion, my scared face matched Devrick's mom as she moved her hands forward to reach mine.

Devrick rushed down the stairs but it was too late, he was seconds late. My back hit the floor, my head after. My hands slumped on my sides and legs curled up, blood soon covering the marble floor.

My eyelids fluttered as my fingers moved slightly, Devrick moving his fingers down my face, "Mom! Don't just stay there, call an ambulance!" Devrick barked out at his mother, looking down at me. "Hold down, everything is going to be okay."

"Mmmyyy bbaabbyy." He shushed me and caressed my face, brushing my hair back. "Don't say a word, you're going to be okay. The baby too." Devrick said in reassurance, "Adriana? Adriana!" Devrick's face was the last thing I saw before everything turned black.

I was in a very dark place, I couldn't see anything, only hear. Voices, voices in my head calling my name, telling me to wake up. I wanted to, but I couldn't. I tried, I did but as much as I tried there was something that was preventing me to wake up.

The voice called my name, callous fingers brushing my face, making my skin tingle. It was Devrick, I recognize that touch and voice any day. Hmm, how much I miss him. How long have I been like this?

A month? Two? Weeks? Days? How long has it been.

My baby, is the baby okay? Did my baby born already? Is the baby still inside of me? I wanted to know. I needed to wake up. "Nurse! A need a nurse now!" What was happening? Devrick? Oh god.

I needed to wake up! Wake up Adriana. Come on, I know you can! Yes, that's it. Move your fingers, move them! "She's moving, nurse please tell me it's a good sign." Devrick! Yes, please wake up Adriana!

Wake up! "It's just a reflex, she's still in a coma Alpha, I'm sorry." No! What? Please wake up, no. I can't be stuck in here, I just can't be. I felt like crying, if only I could. I wanted to cry, cry because I can't wake up, cry because I'm the reason behind Devrick's sadness and cry because I didn't know what happened to my baby girl.

"I know you can hear me, these tears are the poof. I know that you will wake up. I know you will baby. Speaking of baby, she's not ready yet, that's why you need to wake up. So she can cook up a little more in there."

My baby is okay, thank god. "Alpha, your time is up." No, please don't go. I felt his hand squeezing mine before he kissed my forehead. "I know you will wake up, you didn't fight me for nothing, I know you're a fighter. Show me that." He whispered into my ear and I squeezed his hand, hoping he'd feel it but he didn't.

The machine beeped as my eyes slowly blinked, looking around the blurred room. "Nurse! She opened her eyes." I blinked confused, my head pounding madly. "Thank God you're okay, I knew you could do it."

I moved away from his touch, eyeing him up with knitted eyebrows. "Excuse me, but who are you?"
