[14] After many checkups I was finally allowed to rest, "She seems perfectly fine, there is no sign as to why she doesn't remember." I heard the doctor spoke to someone and I stayed still, hearing what they were talking about.

"Do you think that she'll remember again?" Devrick asked the doctor as I felt eyes on me, breathing slowly as I pretended to be asleep. "Probably, but not now. She needs a lot of rest. I think it's best if she's home, surrounded with the people she loves."

"She's coming with me." My mother said as she butted in the conversation, "I will not let her put one foot in that house again! Your mother almost killed my daughter and my granddaughter. You were supposed to protect her but you didn't."

"She's my mate." Devrick barked out, "She will come home with me, where she belongs. I'm sick and tired of you and my mom butting into our business and making decisions for us as if we're kids."

Sensing that the discussion will heat, I opened my eyes. "What's going on?" I pretended not knowing what was happening. My mother came toward me and grabbed my hand, "You need to rest so you're coming home with me, do you like that?"

My eyes glanced up at Devrick, something told me to go with him, but she was my mom. I turned to the both of them, not knowing who to go to. Tears filled my eyes and soon enough my head started to pound.

"You're making it hard for her, let her breath for God Sake's." Devrick barked out at my mother who pulled away from me and looked down at me with a guilty look in her eyes.

I touched my stomach with a brush, closing my eyes as the teardrops fell down my cheeks. "I'll go home with Devrick." I glanced up at my mother who looked somewhat disappointed but understood my decision.

"Whatever you want sweetheart." My mother walked forward and kissed my forehead, brushing my hair, "You can always come to me if you decide against it." She pulled away from me and turned around, leaving the room.

"I'll prepare everything for her discharge."

When everything was saddled, I was rolled out of the hospital in a wheelchair. Devrick helped me in the car and I smiled at him shortly, watching as he closed the door. He got inside of the car and drove us 'home'

He opened the door for me when we reached home and leaded me inside, the moment the door opened, memories came flooding in. "You! I knew you were trouble since you appear in our lives." His mother stalked up the stairs to where I was.

"Mom stop!" Devrick barked angrily at her, "No, she's taking you away from me. Can't you see what she is doing? You are my son, and I won't accept this girl breaking our bond!" She snatched my arm and yanked me toward him, shaking me.

"Let go of me!" I yanked my arms away but she managed to snatch them either way. "Mom stop! You're hurting my mate." Devrick said as he walked up the stairs. Everything happened in slow motion, my scared face matched Devrick's mom as she moved her hands forward to reach mine.

Devrick rushed down the stairs but it was too late, he was seconds late. My back hit the floor, my head after. My hands slumped on my sides and legs curled up, blood soon covering the marble floor.

"Are you okay?" Devrick asked me and I snapped out of it, "No." I shook my head as tears blinded my vision. "I want my mom, I want to go to my mom's house." I busted into tears and Devrick pulled me toward him.

He shushed me, brushing my back with his hands. "Please Adriana, don't leave me." He cupped my face as he stared into my eyes. "We're going to make this work and you will remember."
