Chapter 38

Rosie

This whole night I just felt as someone was watching me. Just me and only focusing on me and I didn't like this feeling.

At.All.

I'm guessing Alex could tell that I was out of place because he looked at me in concern.

"Whats wrong?" He said standing in front of me.

"Alex..I've been keeping something from you" I said not meeting his eyes.

He frowned. "What is it?"

I tried to get my words together.

"Rosie?"

"For these past few weeks Ashley has been sending me text on staying away from you" I looked at his face and saw that it was mixed with conern and anger.

I continued, "At first I just ignored it thinking it was her being her clingy self again but then it kept going and going. But then Yesterday I got an anonymous text from someone" I showed him my phone with the message on it and his jaw clenched.

"Now I feel like someone is watching me and I don't like that Alex. No one bit." I said looking into his eyes but he refused to make eye contact which made me worry.

"Alex..?"

He kept quiet and I moved my hand to touch him but he flinched back which made me frown.

"Al-"

"There's a reason why I've acted like a total asshole to you for a few weeks"

"What?" I said looking at him with conern.

"Ashley, kicking you out of the car, everything"

Before he let me say something he continued.

"The day when we were going to school I got a text warning me about you..." He looked at me for a split second and continued.

"Theu were using you to get to me but the thing is I don't know who it was so I couldn't find out who it was, that's why I was so angry when we left the house and got to the car"

While he was saying this I was processing everything.

"When I told you to get out the car I sat there and thought about everything. By that time It was time for your next class so I got out the car but I was stopped by someone. It was a man I use to 'hang out' with. We were talking but he started talking about you. I..-"

"I already know" I said looking up at him.

Third Person POV:

Alex was confused, before he said anything else she cut him off.

"How I meant nothing to you. How I was just another 'chick' who follows you around. Yeah I know what she said." Rosie said fighting back the tears.

"No Rosie, I...I didn't mean it. I swear, I just-" He tried to explain but she cut him off again.

"No I get it, who want to deal with me in the first place. The girl who gets abused by her father and thinks someone cares about her...when they really don't" She said choking up on her words.

She forced a smile, "But it's okay I'm used to it. I'll just leave you alone so you won't have to deal with me anymore" She said knowing that it will kill her.

"I can't risk losing you Rosie! Don't you understand that?" He said looking into her eyes that he loved so much.

"Is that why you did it?" She said looking up at him with tears in her eyes.

He hung his head low and nodded.

She turned around and ran. Thats all she could do. She heard her name being called but she didn't listen. She let the tears run down her face freely.

She ran all the way to Alex house to get her stuff but when she opened the door she was grabbed.

She screamed but a cloth covered her mouth.

"Shh" the unknown person said.

"Alex" she managed to say trying not to pass out from the chloroform.

"Alex can't save you now" she manged to hear before she fell into darkness.
