Chapter Nine

After Enzo and I got back from the fair we had some fun, of sorts.

Not that it's any of your business of course, but I was finally at peace with myself. Obviously in an attempt to forget the horrible things I did without humanity, I slept with my boyfriend. Which honestly isn't the worst thing in the world.

Not to mention, I was finally back in the Salvatore house, able to sleep in my own bedroom. Stefan and Caroline made it clear that they didn't mind, as long as I was back.

"You seriously have no idea how much I missed us." I smiled into the pillow as I laid on my side, staring at a shirtless Enzo.

"I'm beginning to get the picture." Enzo grinned, as his fingers found my shoulder, and he began rubbing small circles with his thumb before his hand stroked my arm. "Three months of pushing each other back into the darkest corners of our brains. Romance fantasies aside, you're much better in person."

Enzo tapped my nose, causing me to let out a laugh. "And don't you forget it." I chirped.

Our eyes remained locked before I pecked him on the lips and sat upright, desperately wanting to stay in bed with him forever.

I snatched my shirt from the floor, throwing it on over my bra.

Enzo let out a sigh, "I'm famished. Surely there's a granola bar tucked away in this shrine to your adolescence." he sat up, tapping my graduation picture that was neatly framed on the side-table.

"Oh, if you like that, you would've loved my high school bedroom." I rose my eyebrows. "Tiger-beat posters and unicorn stickers filled the walls..it was extremely sexy."

"I'm sure.." Enzo laughed as he grabbed his pants from the floor, sliding them on as my phone began beeping.

I buttoned my jeans, grabbing my phone from the side-table. "Damn, I'm blowing up." I muttered.

"They're all from Caroline." I skimmed the home-page of notifications just as my cell-phone began ringing. "Probably noise complaints.."

"Very funny." Enzo joked, buckling his jeans, sliding a t-shirt on over his head.

I stared down at my phone in slight-shock, holding it up to Enzo, revealing Damon's caller ID.

"You're sure Stefan put him down?" Enzo perked, causing me to shake my head.

Stefan supposedly gave Damon a slight nudge in the sleepy-direction, locking him in a coffin in the Salvatore family crypt.

"Not so sure anymore." I admitted, hesitantly hitting the green-call button. "Damon?"

There was a slight pause of static before Sybil's siren song filled my head, causing me to let out a grunt in pain before I fell to my knees, dropping my phone.

"Cassidy-" Enzo vamp-sped to my side, holding me in his arms as my head throbbed. "Cassidy? Cassidy..Cassidy!" he repeated.

My eyes began to close as I slowly lost consciousness.

"I need help!" Enzo shouted as he bursted through the doors of the Armory, holding me in his arms bridal-style.

Stefan and Matt averted their attention to us, leading Enzo over to a couch to rest me on.

Apparently, Caroline and Alaric's oh-so-adorable twin girls were kidnapped by Sybil. Well, technically they were kidnapped by the evil undercover nanny, Seline, who's also a siren.
