Saying this, Manik placed four sheets in front of me.
Me ( not interested ) : yeh kya hai? ?????
Manik ( explaining ): Mr B.S ne specially tumhare liye yeh worksheet prepare kiya hai! !!!!.....so. ....start solving the sums! !!!!!
Irritatedly, I took the sheets and started reading the sums.
Meanwhile, Manik dragged a chair and sat beside me . Coming a little closer to my face, Manik also started peeping at the worksheet.
On realising his proximity, I chuckled and shifted a little bit in my seat.
Me ( beet red )( scared ) : what the hell do you think .....you are doing!!!!.....Pervert. .....
Manik ( innocently ) : I swear. ....main tumhe nehin. ....worksheet ko dekh raha tha! !!!!!
Me ( pissed ) : are you out of your mind? ?????
Manik ( genuinely ): but. ....I want to help you! !!!!!!!
Me ( calmly ) : I can solve them. .....I don't need your help! !!!!!!
Saying this, I started solving the sum ,on a blank paper.
Sitting beside me, Manik was still peeping.
Manik ( concerned ) : kid. ...you are doing the sum wrong! !!!!!.....woh calculation tum ne galat kiya! !!!!!
Turning my head towards Manik, I glared at him.
Me ( hell pissed ) : will you stop nagging! !!!!!!!
Manik ( horrified ) : sorry. ...ab se kuch nehin bolunga. ....
Exactly after 5 minutes.
Manik ( concerned ) : kid. ....calculate the frequency table first. ...yeh formula galat hai! !!!!!..... arrey woh calculation pehele complete karo! !!!!!!
After solving the sum, I shoved the paper at Manik.
Me ( victoriously ): iss sum ko hum aise bhi solve kar sakte hai. ....Mr Pervert! !!!!!.....this is the easiest way! !!!!!!
Manik carefully looked at the solution.
Manik ( with a smirk ) : this is the longest method of solving this sum. ...kid! !!!!!
Me ( shocked ) ( frustrated ) : you. .....
Manik ( cutting in ) : start solving the next sum. .....
Annoyed by Manik, I started solving the rest of the sums.
Finally, completing the sums, I handed the worksheet to Manik.
Me ( happily ) : I did it. ....
Manik ( impressed ): not bad kid! !!!!!.....2 hours ka worksheet tum ne 45 minutes mein complete kiya! !!!!!!.....I mean. ....ARE YOU EVEN A HUMAN! !!!!!!!
Me ( pissed off ) : what! !!!!!!!!!!!
Manik ( smirking ) : you have got some incredible brains. ....kid! !!!!!
Me ( not interested ) : whatever! !!!!!
Saying this, I moved towards the door to leave, when I heard Maniks voice.
Manik ( serious ) : tum ne aapna homework kyon nehin kiya? ???????
I don't know why, but my heart started thumping faster. My back was facing him, so I was rescued from the eye contact.
Me ( calmly ) : tum se matlab! !!!!!!!
Manik ( seriously ) : it does matter to me. ....Nandini. ....
Okay, Manik is really scaring me. The way he said' Nandini ',only meant danger.
Manik ( serious ) : answer me Nandini? ????.....because I seriously want to know. ....why a straight A student like you. .....decided to destroy her own career? ????????
Finally, I turned to face Manik.
He was looking at me with a concerned expression.
I was never answerable to anyone. This was the first time, someone had dared to question me.
But looking at Maniks eyes and his concern for me, I just wanted to share everything with him. I just wanted to confide in him. I just wanted to answer his each and every question.
Manik ( pleading with eyes ): please. ....speak up Nandini? ??????
But, breaking through my hatred, is not that easy.
The feeling of being abandoned and unwanted, can not be replaced by care, in a single day.
Me ( snapped ) ( angrily ) : it's none of your business. ....Mr Malhotra! !!!!!!!
Saying this, I turned to leave. But my heart was paining. As if, something was not right.
Manik was really hurt by Nandini's words and just closed his eyes, in despair.
Suddenly, the words of the palm reader, crossed his mind "aapne pyaar ko hamesha aapne pass hi rakhna. .....bhale woh chahein yah naa chahein. ....kyon ki usska saath nibhana hi tumhari kismaat hai "
A smile escaped Maniks lips and he opened his eyes, with determination in them.
Manik ( smiling ) : chahein tum kuch bhi bol lo kid. ....I am never gonna leave you alone! !!!!!!.....till my last breath! !!!!.......tab taak ke liye. .....you can scream at me. .....you can yell at me. .....you can vend your anger on me. .....even you can kick my butt. .....still. .....you will find me by your side! !!!!!!!!
Turning my body, I just gaped at Manik with shock.
While Manik gave me his million dollar smirk and left from there.
