Chapter 4

Melanie's POV

Next day, while I was still staring at the ceiling like what I usually do whenever I wake up, I smell something cooking. It smells like pancakes. Yum. I quickly get out of my bed and rushed to the bathroom to brush my teeth and take a quick shower. Afterwards, I rushed downstairs to eat the pancakes before it goes cold. While rushing I accidentally bumped into my little brother who was rushing down too.

"Oh ! Be careful Nate, I almost pushed you down the stairs" I ruffled his hair.

"Sorry Nini" he was rubbing both of his eyes. And yes, he calls me Nini. He still looks half asleep honestly.

While going downstairs I was holding Nate's hand just incase he slips. What? He was half asleep, anything could have happened since he isn't fully awake.

When we entered the kitchen mom saw us both holding hands.

"Oh how cute to see you two like that" Mom raised both of her eyebrows.

"Nate is still half asleep and I am just leading him so he doesn't get injured mom" I sat Nate down on the chair and pat his head.

Mom laughed and placed a plate filled with pancakes in front of me and Nate. I thanked mom for the food and dig into my pancakes.

Dad finally came downstairs and looked at me and Nate.

"woah. calm down sweetie, I know pancakes is your favourite but it won't go anywhere" he put his hand on top of my head and ruffled my hair.

With my mouth filled with pancakes i said "well I'm sorry. The pancakes is too good."

"Don't talk with your mouth full, it's inappropriate!" Nate said while looking disgusted.

I chewed my food and swallowed it while glaring at Nate.

After eating breakfast I kissed my parents goodbye and ruffled Nate's hair. On my way to school, I switched on the radio to listen to some music but instead I hear people doing prank calls. I quickly change the channel and mumbled "nonsense." I heard my phone beep notifying me that someone sent me a message. When I stopped by a red light I quickly check my phone to see who is it from and it was Roni.

"Me and Matt is waiting for you at the parking lot."

I gave Roni a quick and short reply "sure."

When I got out of my car I saw Matt and Roni chatting together while leaning by a red car. I don't know who's but pretty sure it's one of them.

I quietly try to sneak on Roni, Matt saw me but I put my finger to my lips asking him to keep quiet. Matt just continued talking to Roni. I covered Roni's eyes with both of my hands which made her startled.

"Oh my gOD! Matt am I getting kidnapped ?!"

I ended up letting her eyes go and Roni turned around and saw me.

"Oh god you scared me !"

I just laughed with Matt and say "You're just overreacting. Why would anyone kidnap you at this kind of time."
