Chapter 45

Seb POV:

"Mumeeee"Mia called out for Nisha who was sniffing a bit.

"Yeah dear, I'll be there"she stood up from the chair.

"Nisha,lets talk"I pulled her wrist.

"Later"she pulled her hand from me and went to Mia who was narrating her day in the school. Nisha looked distracted but she pretended she listened everything. I took my phone out and dialed Kimi.

"Hello there boyfriend!"Kimi screeched on the other line.

"Kimi I got the letter, from Ferrari"I whispered as I got out of the room to the balcony.

"And....."he dragged for me to answer.

"And what?I don't know what to do !Nisha is crying dude"

"She is crying?Mate that's bad, did you already tell her that you knew about this? You told me yes when they asked for a renewal of the contract"he sounded panicked.

"That was the fooking beginning of the year.Shits gonna break down mate"I carded a hand through my hair and sighed.

"Listen,talk to her.Make her understand  that it was just a backup plan in case she wasn't ready to share Mia with you.Dude tell her something,dont let her go"

"I will try.I'll call you if I'm alive tomorrow, Bye!"I put the phone in my jeans and gave an exasperated sigh.I really want to be with them but I also want my career to resume.I really hope she would understand.

I felt a tug on my shirt , it was Mia calling me for dinner . It would be usually Nisha but I think she is really mad at me now.I joined them at the dining table where Nisha was rubbing her eyes and sniffling a bit.When she saw Mia she gave me a small smile and laid out the plates.I served myself two rotis and chewed them without even touching the side dish or jam.

Dinner was awfully quiet ,it hasn't been like this since we got together again. Nisha tucked Mia to sleep and I was waiting for her to come out.I poured myself a glass of orange juice and prepared myself for a serious talk.

Nisha came out after half an hour and sat on the couch hands on her head bowed down.I poured her a glass and gave it to her,she shook her head.I placed the glass on the coffee table and took her hands away from her head.

"Talk to me Nish,please. Don't avoid me like this."I sighed and interwined our hands. She slipped her hand away from mine and wiped her eyes with the sleeves of her sweater.I kneeed down in front of her and wiped her tears away.She turned away from my touch.

"Please don't do all this Seb.I know this will not end well"she tucked her legs in and took the glass in her hands.I sat back on the couch and faced her.

"Did you already know about this?"She asked in a low tone.

"I..."Should I tell her that I already knew it but brushed it off? I went on thinking about this until I felt her shaking my shoulders.

"I knew it"I looked at the floor and whispered. I did not want to look at her face but I heard a soft gasp.

"Oh" was all she managed to tell.Round,fat tears were already rolling down her eyes.She brushed it off quickly and stood up.I managed to catch her by her waist and turn her around.

"Just don't make me talk in this situation.I want some air,if I tell something now it might go wrong"she pleaded.

"Nisha hear me out fully"I gave her the most sincere look.She sat back and leaned on the armrest of the couch closing her eyes.

"It was our usual renewal contract Nisha, I can just turn it down now"

"No Seb,its your career .I don't want to pull you in all this mess.But if I think too much,I might end up taking some selfish decisions and I don't want to do that to you,to us or Mia.I just love seeing you on track, the only fear is that I might end up losing you again and I really cant bear all that, you know it hurts when you have to go explaining your five year old all over again about her father." she is full on tears now.

"I want stability" she continued "I want you to pursue your career at the same time,you are not that old to retire.The thing is,at some point of life everyone wants to settle down.I want to come home to someone I love everyday , someone who can occasionally treat me I'm his but the only person I love leaving me alone to an empty home suddenly again is going to be a bit overwhelming.But I think I'll come to terms with that."

"You are scared"I placed my hands on her small,delicate ones."You are scared that you might lose me again.I  will not make that mistake again.You want stability and I could give you that,you know what I will come home after every race and fly you guys over everytime I get a chance.We can show Mia the world together,she would love to travel and someday I want to marry you.Then it'll be just us against the world"I looked at her and gave her  wide smile.

"Did you just tell me you wanted to marry me?"She asked hands over her mouth.She was truly shocked and from her reaction she wouldn't have expected this.

"You think I'm nuts ? I planned our wedding when we were dating love"I wiped the tears and engulfed her into a hug.Her sobs turned loud and she started shaking.

"Shh....don't cry Nisha,you have bared so many things for me and I love you with all of my heart ,what else would you think would separate us huh?''I placed a kiss on her forehead and we just stayed like that for a while,listening to each others breathing sounds.

"So you would find a way for us?"she sniffed again and bumped our noses.

"Damn, was I talking in French the whole time?"I laughed at her and she laid her head on my chest drawing random patterns.

"You lack total respect Nisha.I thought so high of you"

"Why ?"she looked at me brown eyes big like Bambi.

"I proposed marriage and you did not reply me.Im offended"I pulled a strand of hair from her face and tucked it behind her ear.

She kissed me on the tip of my nose and pulled me with her to her room.We giggled like teenagers slipping past Mia's room and she pushed me down.I fell on her bed with a thud.

And the rest is history....
