Chapter 31

Seb POV:

"She seems like a nice girl" Kimi hummed as he sat on my couch switching on my television going through the channels.

"Suppose so" I shrugged as I flopped near him "But one wrong move with her then the apocalypse explodes" He laughed and threw down the remote settling on Vampire diaries.

"But I tell you she has raised your daughter so beautifully. I wouldn't expect this kind of manners from a five year old"

"What? Trust me , she is such a control freak or perfectionist or whatever you call her. She never let Mia to have some fun. Like don't eat junkies after 8, don't play video games   daily, don't spill food on the counter, She is only five not a military trained candidate" I went to my room to change and threw Kimi a pair of sweats.

"But you're overreacting I think, Mia grew up without a father" I glared at him and he raised his hands in defense "I meant until now Seb, so it was the duty of Nisha to take care of her so much that she gave the most of both your love to her, she must have wanted to make sure that she didn't miss a father figure"

He was so right and this was like slapping me hard in the face. I frowned but Kimi placed a reassuring hand on my shoulder "Everything will be alright"

The next morning we woke up ,had our coffee and went to Nisha's flat as Kimi promised he would spend the whole day with Mia as she had a full week holiday for some festival. Nisha opened the door and she was still in her shorts.

"You did not go to work?" I asked as I stepped in and closed the door.

"No diwali week, so the employees have a week holiday. I have to start preparing sweets." She tied her hair into a bun and walked to the kitchen.

"Coffee?" She asked as she pulled out mugs for coffee

"Nope, just now drank, what about you Kimi?" I turned to ask Kimi but he was nowhere to be found. I shouted for him and he whisper shouted a yes from Mia's room. We went inside and saw Mia on top of Kimi clutching  her dinosaur tightly dodging her.

"Uncle Kimwi! Dino Dino!" She shouted as she reached for the soft toy from his head.

"Nononono promise me to get me an ice cream today , I'll leave you"

"Mumeeeeeeee!! She reached for Nisha but backed away and chuckled. She muttered something like kids and went out leaving the three of us together. I went behind Kimi and snatched the Dino toy handing it to Mia.

" Don't play like kids, get up so we could take her somewhere "I carried Mia to the restroom and placed the toothbrush in her mouth. She opened her mouth wide so that I could brush her teeth.

" Who was that interesting character in Nisha's office? That curly kid? "Kimi asked as I asked Mia to spit the paste.

" That interesting character is one is the extinct species in this whole universe, his name is Harvey something.... Oh yea he is Harry. That guy is a headache I tell you, always giving me death glares and driving me to the edge of my temper. There is always like Harry this and Harry that ugghh "I shivered as I lifted Mia to check out her crystal white teeth.

" Daddy, uncle Haz come with today"Mia asked as I groaned to which Kimi chuckled "couldn't help it mate" was his answer.

We went to the hallway and found Meera with her husband and Adhi sitting on the couch taking about some arrangements. I went and sat near Veer and patted his shoulder

"Hey, how are you doing? Must be busy huh?" He asked as Mia crawled up his lap and started pulling his hair.

"Oh ouch.. No babe not today" he took her small hands from his hair and planted a kiss to her knuckles.

"So we could call Haz Nisha. He will help with some stuff." Meera told as my head turned to their conversation.

"Harry for what?" I asked them as I tried to look casual.

"For getting stuff, you know like the groceries and ingredients for baking.I heard he is a good cook. Those lasagna he brings sometimes are utterly delicious" he clicked the tip of her tongue .

"You know I can..." Before I finished my sentence the door I opened and revealed a mop of curly hair bouncing in. He was wearing a hoodie and sweatpants.

"Is this how you arrive to your boss' home? " I asked as I put one  leg on the coffee table.

"Oh why are you even here? It's a lazy day and I came as they called.I did not invite myself over, duh" he sat on the bean bag and Mia ran over to him.

"Awwww.... Did little miss Mia miss her favorite uncle?" He cooed and brushed her noise with his.I felt Kimi lean up to me and whisper in my ear"Really extinct species mate "I snickered.

" So what's our plan today "Harry asked as he rubbed his hands together and gave a dimpled smiled. I cringed at those dimples.

" Leave it Seb, we'll drill holes in your cheeks so that you would get some dimples like me "he wiggled his eyebrows at me and Nisha laughed at him.

" That was not even a joke "I shot back and the whole room went silent for a minute but then he burst out laughing
" That was not even serious you poker face "Kimi laughed with them but when I glared at him he matched the laugh with a cough.

" So Veer you buy the ingredients and Harry you help us bake. You two can take Mia outside as you promised "Nisha looked at me and gave me a small smile. Kimi stood up from the couch to fetch Mia and I spoke up

" I'm staying with you guys. Kimi you can take her out with Harry "I looked at Kimi who was holding Mia.

" I promised to help you guys, I'm not going to a park with them "Harry pouted.

" please don't pout, you look like a mentally retared baby "

"But you look like that without even pouting" he stuck his tongue out at me.

"Fine if you want to help them just take Mia and Kimi with you and Veer to shopping.I will stay here as I feel bit under the weather"

"But you were fine this morning......" Kimi started

"Just go with them Kimi" I pushed him with them who took a long list from Nisha.

"Nisha for what lanterns???" Harry asked as he stood near the door.

"Its like we make them fly every diwali night here.A belief that we follow.Something about wishes coming true or blah blah"

"Ohh" Harry grinned at them and left the door."Don't forget the cashews "she shouted after them and went to the kitchen.

Meera came behind me and whispered "Someone is jealous"

"What???Me oh no....I was really feeling a bit under weather"

"Whatever floats your boat mister" she laughed at me ad she went to work with Nisha.

After few minutes of seeing them making some kind of pastes,I fell asleep on the couch which was awoken by a loud thud on the door.I pulled myself closer  and tried to close my eyes but there was continuous tapping. I pretended to stay asleep as Meera went and opened the door.What I can't believe was Harry and Kimi laughing at each other taking about some football team .All I wanted to tell was "Et tu Brute?"Traitor.

They placed the groceries on the table and Kimi sat on me.I squiggled beneath him but he jumped on me over and over.

" Mate mate..get up...I had so much fun"he replied with a bright grin on his face.

"I saw you traitor" I smacked his arm and he winced.

"He is so much fun Seb.You misunderstood that guy" He high fived Harry as he passed by.

"I hate you" I mouthed at him but he laughed it off

"Love you too mate" he shouted at me and left to Mia's room probably to play with her

"Why is only half the cashew packet here" Nisha asked Harry as he gave her a nervous look fiddling with his fingers and mumbling an "Oops"

"Told ya he is fun!" Kimi shouted again from Mia's room.
