Hey dad,
So it's about half six in the evening and I'm working an alone shift at work, so why not tell you some stories, eh?
I'm gonna tell you about one of my all time best friends: Olie. Best friend is somewhat of an understatement. She's like my sister. Of all the sister figures I've had in my life she's definitely second and no one is a close second to her.
We used to talk all the time. Actually I'm pretty sure I would talk at get and she would be like "who is this kid...why an I talking to him...when can I leave" because she's like...a regular person and I'm like...well you know what I'm like...insane.
I dont really have any stories that we have together that I can recall and I can recall a lot of memories with my friends. I can only remember text conversations - we don't really hang out in person. But I'm gonna tell you about one of the few times when we did hang out and that was at our senior trip.
So our senior trip was at some place (,I don't know Thai geography) but it wasn't in the city or anything. Olie was kinda upset with her friends because they were making her feel like an outcast for a while. So one of my main goals was to make sure she had fun - I wanted her to be happy.
I remember one time right I was about to go hangout upstairs with my friends and we were gonna watch a horror film but we didn't have any water so I told my friends I'll get it, but I saw Olie sitting alone on get phone so I sat with her and we just talked. And it was actually pretty funny because we were talking about just stuff that she upset about or just funny stories right behind us was my friend Kass (really good guy) and he was working on his biology report. And he just turns around and goes, "you guys know how to make this chart on excel?" It was just such a random moment and it was awesome.
Anyway so we were talking for like 30 minutes and my friends came to the lobby where we were and they were like "you getting water yet?"
...
I forgot I was supposed to get water for my room...
Another day during the trip she was was in her room and I was in mine and I called her in to check up on her and our friends Pang answered and I was like "hey Pang is Olie there?" And she goes, "Yeah...But she's doing the chubby bunny challenge."
(The chubby bunny challenge is when you did your face with marshmallows and say the phrase "chubby bunny". Whoever has the most marshmallows becomes the supreme chubby bunny or whatever.)
I miss hanging out with her. We don't talk much anymore and we don't have the same weird conversations anymore. Times were had but I guess sometimes we have to move on and that no one's fault.
She took care of me when I never asked. I'll never forget that.
I hope she's doing well.
Love you always,
Nasri.
