Hey dad,I wanna tell you about one of my best friends: Rex Gamble.
Rex is one of two non-Jemas that mom calls her children and that we all call our brother.
Man, Rex is just incredible. I mean his name is literally Latin for "King". And that's not his nickname, that's his real name.
(Also like T. Rex, but now that I think of it, it sounds like a rap name...)
He's also part of the 4 Bananas People to which I have nicknames for everyone (excluding myself).
I'll explain the nicknames in another letter but there's Honey's Halcyonic Hymn, CC&C Cheetah, and Gamble the Glorious.
Glorious because, I'm pretty sure the rest of the group would agree, Rex is the most successful and will be the most successful of us all. All in all, reign glorious over us all.
(I'm a drama queen, I know. I love it.)
But we always say he's the dad of the group because he dresses like the dad (he has like a bomber jacket that's very much a dad jacket.) And he's always the most mature. His signature phase is "Please don't." Cheetah, Honey, and myself are all like the children of the group. Except sometimes Honey is the mother of the group, Cheetah is the cool uncle, and I'm Danny Vasquez from Bravest Warriors (Haha reverence you don't get (and also many other people)) - he's the weird kid in the group.
Rex is a really good guy. He's taken care of me, he's taken care of Ron, and he's never asked for anything in return.
When he knows we worked hard and we're going to keep working for that one thing he'll rise to the occasion and be there for us. He's offered to find jobs, scholarships, opportunities. He's paid for my school fees when we didn't have the money for it.
He's been there for me, no matter his situation. When he's had it worse, he helped helped me out.
Brotherhood is a weird that's thrown around often and used as a term for endearment. "Bro" is a common expression to call someone, but the feeling of having someone like Rex...those terms don't even come close.
I wish you could have met him.
Yours,
Nasri
