Chapter 10

Ariana's P.O.V

I stepped into the hospital without saying a word to the rude lady at the desk.

"Ma'am, You can't go back there."

I quickly flicked her off and continued walking to the doors. Using all my strength, I snapped the automatic doors open.

That's when I saw it. In the bed that once was occupied with my boyfriend, was replaced with a single back body bag.

Tears slowly began streaming down my face as I saw the bag being zipped up over Jai's face.

"No!"

I shouted over the hospital chaos.

"No! No! No! No!"

I started backing up until something hard hit my back. A wall. I slid down the rough drywall and repeated the word over and over again.

"Sweetheart. I'm so sorry but you can't stay back here."

One of the nurses gently pulled up on my arm and lead me back through the broken doors.

The only thing I could see through my tears was Nathan. I walked over to the man that I hated and cried into his arms.

"Ariana... I'm so sorry. I never meant for this to happen. I, I'm so so sorry."

His voice was filled with concern and sadness and he gently rubbed my back to comfort me.

"He's gone Nathan. He's gone."

He remained silent as he walked me out of the ICU and back onto the road we got here on.

I could contain myself and my emotions. My first love. My one true love. Was dead and there was no way that I could get him back.

In that moment I realized how important life really is. One simple car accident could ruin everything.

One simple house fire could ruin everything.

One simple disease could ruin everything.

I missed Jai more than anything in the world but I know that just because that one simple car accident killed him, I can't let it ruin me.

Jai would have wanted me to move on.

As much as it hurt, that's exactly what going to do.
