Chapter Five: Hospital Surprise

Kyrie woke up to the beeps of a heart monitor. The slow beep that came up seemed soothing to her at the time, and she kept her eyes closed, her whole body seemingly numb. "Hey doc, when do you think she's going to wake up?" Kyrie heard her grandfather ask the other person she sensed was in the room. "It should be soon. You said she was part wolf, part vampire correct?" A man, that Kyrie suspected was the doctor, said. She heard some scribbling and then she felt a slight touch against the inside of her wrist. Her instincts immediately kicked in.

Before anyone knew what was happening, in the blink of an eye, Kyrie was suddenly up and out of the bed, the arm of the person who had touched her now twisted around and wrenched behind the persons back. Kyrie looked around at the shocked faces of her family- minus Mike and Angel. Kyrie looked down at the person she was holding and saw that he was wearing a white lab coat, signifying that he was a doctor at the hospital that Kyrie figured that she must be in. "Could you....could you let me go now Miss Garrison, please? Before you dislocate my arm from its socket would be preferable," the doctor said, pain lacing his voice. Kyrie immediately let the doctor, dusting off his lab coat as she helped him to his feet. "Sorry Doc, instant reflex for someone I don't know touches me," Kyrie said as she finished dusting the doctor off. "Its quite alright Miss Garrison," the Doctor said as he rolled his shoulder out, lessening the pain that he felt.

"So...what happened? And where's Angel?" Kyrie asked as she sat back on the bed, noticing that she was dressed in her baggy Bigood Women's Faux Two-pieces Off-the-shoulder Batman Casual T-shirt and a pair of her baggy Tripp black and dark neon green pants that had metallic green and silver chains attached to them. "Who dressed me?" She asked, knowing that this wasn't the outfit she had been wearing when...

Everything suddenly came back to Kyrie and she stumbled back as the memories of that day came flooding back to her. She remembered heading to the shop, doing a few piercings, sitting in the computer room with Angel playing Five Nights At Freddy's as they waited for her 10:15 am appointment, how when they heard the bell above the door jingle, signifying that someone had come into the shop. She remembered how when she and Angel had gone into the lobby and saw her ex Justin Brown had been standing there in a trench coat. She remembered how she had watched as Justin had opened the trench coat and had been strapped with a shit ton of C-4 and how he had detonated and how Angel had put his body in front of hers as he knocked her down behind the desk as Justin had detonated the C-4.

"Oh my Goddess..." Kyrie whispered as she realized that her fiancee had sacrificed his own life and body to save her. "Where's Angel? Is he okay?" She asked no one in particular, just hoping she would get and answer from someone. "I'm right here babygirl," Angel said as he came from behind the curtain next to Kyrie's hospital bed. He was bandaged up on his arms and around his torso. "Oh my Goddess..." Kyrie whispered before she ran to his side, hugging him tightly. "Ow, babe, torso, lots of pain," Angel grunted in pain. "Oh I'm so sorry!" She exclaimed, letting go of him. Angel nodded as he moved the curtain and sat down on the bed next to Kyrie's.

"We tried to keep the two of you close to one another after we explained to the doctors that you two draw energy from one another when you heal," Steven said as Kyrie went and sat down next to Angel. Kyrie nodded as she laced her fingers with Angel's. "Its always been that way with us, we've always fed off each other. We don't know why, we think it might be because of Ravyn and Dzan," Kyrie said, speaking of both her and Angel's alter personalities thanks to their shared MPD (Multiple Personality Disorder). Steven nodded in agreement. "It could be the connection between you too and the Aether," he added and Kyrie nodded. "True," Kyrie mumbled as she looked down at her self inflicted scarred arms. It was then that she realized that she had a needle still stuck in her arm, the tube attached to it hanging free, a clean tear at the bottom. She looked over at the machine near her bed and saw the other end of the tube attached to the I.V. bag filled with the meds they had been giving her. "Oops..." she mumbled, looking up apologetically at the Doctor.

The Doctor smiled and shook his head. "It's quite alright Miss Garrison," he said as he picked his clipboard back up. "Do you know what day it is?" The Doctor asked. Kyrie shook her head. "Last time I knew it was New Years Day," Kyrie said. The Doctor nodded and scribbled something on his clipboard. "Well that was two weeks ago," the Doctor told them. Kyrie nodded, expecting it had been awhile since the bombing took place. "Whats the shop look like? Is it bad?" She asked, looking at her family. All she got were sad looks. "It's completely destroyed isn't it," she said, not even phrasing it as a question. Everyone nodded. "Damnit..."

"It's okay baby, we can rebuild the shop at a later date, right now we just need to find Mike," Angel said, squeezing her hand slightly as Kyrie took the needle out of her arm. "Well the one place I know we can look is in Long Beach. Start there and see if Salem has heard anything from him," Kyrie said, speaking of Mike's girlfriend Salem Rodrigues. "Right, so Doc," The Doctor, who Kyrie finally realized was wearing a name tag with the name "Christian DelaFrey" on it, looked up. "Yes Miss Garrison?" Doctor DelaFrey asked. "When can we get out of here?"

"Well, as soon as I take your vitals and check your wounds you should be good to go," DelaFrey said. Kyrie nodded and DelaFrey came over to do what he needed to do.

Once he was finished he wrote down Kyrie's information he needed on the clipboard. "There's just one more thing I need to check for you before you can leave Miss Garrison," DelaFrey said. Kyrie nodded and laid down on her bed as the doctor instructed. "I need to do a sonogram," Kyrie's eyes widened at the word. "WHY??" She exclaimed.

"I take it you didn't know you were pregnant before the accident?"
