Chapter Ten: Into The Past

"Now then, back to business." Vegas said, taking another sip of his scotch. "You came here tonight thinking that I was the one who killed your parents. That fortunately is not true." Kyrie looked at him skeptically as she ashed her splif in the ash tray that sat on the table top. "What do you mean?" she asked. "Its as I said. I didn't do it," Vegas said nonchalantly. "Wait...if you didn't do it...then who did??"

"Calm down Kyrie, we can explain all of it. Lana why don't you get the crystals?" Vegas said to his wife. Lana nodded and got up, heading out of the room and coming back minutes later with a mahogany box. She sat in front of the fireplace and opened the box. Kyrie got up from her seat and sat next to Lana who was now pulling out multiple crystals and setting them out in a circle around the table. "Can I help?" Kyrie asked looking at Lana. "Of course dear. Have you ever used crystals to look into the past?" she asked. Kyrie nodded. "Only once and that was to see what I had done wrong when Angel and I broke up in high school...it wasn't pretty..." Kyrie said trailing off. Lana just nodded. "Well then join hands with me and we shall see what we can find in the past," she said holding out her hands. Kyrie took them and felt a sudden jolt cross between them, then all of a sudden they were in the past.

Kyrie watched as her father Travis Garrison walked through the door of his house after a long day at work. She knew this because of the Oakland A's hat that he was wearing. It was a hat Kyrie gave him years ago that he normally wore when he was working either at his job or when he worked on the property he lived at with his adoptive father and step mother.

"Sandy? You home hun?" Travis asked as he went into the fridge and pulled out a beer and the bottle of Jack Daniel's. He poured himself a shot and threw it down his throat before making another one. "Hey babe," Sandy said, coming out of their bedroom with a robe on and a towel wrapped around her head. She had just gotten out of the shower and had heard him rummaging around in the kitchen.

"Long day?" Sandy asked as Travis pulled back another shot. "Yep," Travis answered as he popped open his beer and took a swig. He walked over to the leather recliner and sat down turning on the t.v. at the other end of the living room. A knock suddenly sounded at the door. "Can you get it babe? I'm still getting dressed," Sandy said from the doorway as she put on some pants. "Yeah sure," Travis said, getting up from his seat and walked over to the door. When he opened it he half expected it to be people from the church down the road wanting to sell them on "God".

It wasn't.

In the doorway stood a group of members from the Vampiric high council, and at the front of the line in blood red catholic style robes and a blood red arch bishops hat, stood the Arch bishop of the Crypts (he was the arch bishop and leader of the old time Vampire covens- the ones who still slept in coffins until night)...

"Arch Bishop Raphael?" Kyrie asked, confused as she looked over at Lana. Lana nodded and pointed at the scene telling her silently to watch. Kyrie turned back to the scene as she watched her father who had been an active council member and ambassador to the Vampiric High Council since he was eighteen (he was currently thirty-six). "Arch Bishop Rowan," Travis said bowing respectfully. The arch bishop gave a wicked looking smile as he answered her father. "Ambassador Garrison. I am glad I caught you at home," Raphael said as he walked into the living room. "I just got home actually," Travis said, motioning for the bishop to take a seat on the couch. "What brings you here sir?" He asked.

Sandy suddenly came out of the bedroom, towel in hand and drying her hair. "Who was it ba- Arch Bishop Raphael!" Sandy said, bowing respectfully as she went to join her husband. Two of the men Kyrie had watched walk down the hallway to her and her sisters old rooms suddenly came back and stood near the bishop. "The children aren't here sir," one of the men said. The Arch Bishop nodded. "Oh good, children do not need to see or hear the affairs of the council anyways," the Bishop said, standing. "Please take a seat Ambassador Garrison, you as well Ambassador Farerra," the Bishop said, motioning for both of Kyrie's parents to sit down. They did.

"I have come here to ask a question of you Ambassadors," the Bishop said as he began to pace. "What is it sir?" Sandy asked. "Do you know where the blood stone resides now? I know you two were of the set of men and women who hid it and put all the protection and concealment spells upon it."

"Sir," Travis began, his eyes full of worry and suspicion. "With all due respect sir, we signed a blood pact to never reveal the location of the stone. Its too powerful to be among men and that's why it was hidden."

"I KNOW why it was hidden you imbecile!!" The Bishop snarled suddenly, getting straight in her fathers face. His movement was so quick that if Kyrie had blinked she would have missed it. "M-my apologies sir its just...why are you asking if you know we're not aloud to speak its whereabouts?" Travis said, sinking into the couch to get some distance between him and the Bishop. The Bishop's eyes suddenly turned from the bright blood red they were when his temper had flared, back to their original ice blue.

The Bishop cleared his throat before he spoke. "My apologies Garrison," the Bishop said, adjusting his hat slightly. Kyrie stared at the Bishop suspiciously. Even though she was in the past she could still feel the greed and lust for power flowing off him in waves and she knew her father and Sandy felt it too for both of them were empath's like her. "I ask because the council believes that the stone is in danger and they wished for me to find the stones location and bring it to them so they can find a new suitable home for it."

"Bullshit," Kyrie whispered. Lana nodded. Kyrie watched her father's reaction and knew that he was thinking the same thing. "I apologize sir but I believe the council would have called to let us know of this predicament before sending you out," Travis said. The Bishop's eyes turned blood red again. "Good job Daddy," Kyrie whispered."your catching on." The Bishop got right up in Travis's face once more, this time screaming in his face. "YOU WILL TELL ME WHERE THE STONE IS HIDDEN OR ELSE!!!"

"I'll just...go get some drinks," Sandy said as she got up and went into the kitchen pulling out a wine bottle full of blood and some crystal goblets she and Travis had received from Kyrie for they're wedding.

"No," Travis said, getting up from his seat and standing tall in front of the Bishop. "No? NO?? Do you not believe me when I say 'Or Else'???!!" the Bishop screamed. Travis just glared the same glare he used to give Kyrie as a kid when he was mad, his own blue eyes turning glacial.

The Bishop growled menacingly and in a flash he was in front of Sandy a dagger stuck deep in her chest. Kyrie gasped when she saw the sight. "NO!!" She screamed. Lana held Kyrie back as she tried to scramble towards her step mother and save her life. "This is the past dearest, there is nothing you can do but watch," Lana said, caressing Kyrie's hair as she sank to the ground and watched the scene unfold.

"Sandra!" Travis screamed scrambling over to his wife's now lifeless body, her eyes glazed over and the pain still showing. "Oh gods NO! Sandra! Baby please, wake up!" Travis screamed tapping Sandy's face. There was no response.

"What have you done?!" Travis screamed, tears streaming down his face. "I did warn you my son, you just didn't want to believe me," the Bishop told him, making the symbol of a cross with his hands and pulling out a mahogany beaded rosary. He bent his head and began praying. "YOU SICK SON OF A BITCH!" Travis screamed before launching himself at the Bishop. But the Bishop was ready for him.

Travis suddenly stopped and looked down to see a dagger in his own chest. He looked up at the Bishop as Kyrie screamed in agony as she watched the life drain from her father's face. "Daddy!" Kyrie screamed, her breathing becoming choppy and fast. Tears flew down her cheeks as she watched her father sink to the ground, his body lifeless. The Bishop pulled out the dagger from Travis's chest and he made another symbolic cross with his hands and picked up the rosary from the ground before bowing his head and praying once more. Once he was done he snapped his fingers and one of the men came to his side. "Majesty?" The man asked. "Make it look like a werewolf attack, place the hairs and finger prints around the house and trash it. We'll pin it on Vegas. Hes already on everyone's shit list because he got caught killing Travis's half brother and his family. Stupid dumb fuck," the Bishop said as he walked out the front door. "Oh and, kill the others on the property too. We don't need them calling the police if they find the bodies."

"Yes sir," the man said, snapping his own fingers and setting the other men to work. The Bishop left the house then and used his speed to make it back to the council before dawn.
