Yoongi was walking through one of the many parks of Seoul, getting some fresh air. It had been more than a year since he last saw her, but she never escaped his mind.
He'd changed, cleaned up his act since she left. It was sad though, that he had to lose her to finally see how low he was.
Every day he thought of her, wondered how she was doing, if she was even still in the city. He had no idea. He wrote songs for her, a whole album even. But he knew he'd never get the chance to share it with her.
The memories of his time with her were always playing in his mind. All the quiet walks they had, the times in the loud clubs, the talks in bed, the fights...
But what hurt the most was remembering how much she cared for him, how much he took her for granted.
Yoongi sighed, sitting on a bench and watching everyone around him as his mind was still lost in thoughts of her, his past. As his eyes wandered all the faces around him, his heart stopped. On a bench, a little ways down the path, there she was.
Yoongi shook his head, thinking that he was only daydreaming. But no, she was still sitting there, looking beautiful.
His heart beat a little faster as he looked at her, seeing how pretty she looked. It felt like the first time he saw her, the butterflies in his stomach just as strong. He stood up, not even thinking about what he was doing as he walked over to her.
"Hey..." Yoongi said, calling her name as he walked closer to her. She looked up, her face completely in shock.
"Yoongi?" She asked as he sat down beside her. "Yeah..." He trailed off, not knowing what to say. He looked down, playing with his hands, feeling nervous. He saw her foot tapping, something she would do when she was nervous too.
*Reader's POV*
"You look better..." You started, looking over at him. "A lot better."
"I've cleaned up, changed. I don't drink like I used to, don't go out..." He said. It was silent for a moment between you two.
"That's good, I'm happy for you." You told him. "I just wish you changed sooner." You whispered, feeling tears starting to swell. He looked back at you, tears threatening his eyes too.
There were too many emotions inside of you. Yes, you were happy to see him, happy to see that he was better. But you didn't know how to feel, looking at him, realizing how much you really missed him. And it seemed like those same feelings were going through Yoongi as you watched him bite his lip, trying not to cry.
It was silent. Neither of you knew what to say, so all you could do was sit there and watch each other try not to cry. Your heart was about to burst as you glanced at his hands, wanting to feel his touch on your skin. But then you heard your name being called. You looked behind you to the voice, snapping back into reality.
*3rd POV*
Yoongi looked past her, hearing her name being called as well. Then his heart dropped at the scene in front of him. Another man was making his way to the bench where they were sitting, pushing a baby stroller.
As the stranger got closer, he saw the tears in her eyes. "Are you alright? What's going on?" He asked, kneeling in front of her and wiping her cheeks. Yoongi stood up and glanced away from them for a moment and looked in the stroller, the baby looking up at him.
"I'm fine, really." She said as she stood up, trying to laugh away her tears as she pushed the man back a bit. Before she even introduced him, Yoongi knew exactly what was going on.
"Yoongi, this is Jae Sun, my boyfriend..." She said awkwardly, not making eye contact with either of them. "Jae is fine." He told Yoongi as they greeted each other. Yoongi noticed how Jae's expression changed at the mention of his name.
"And this is my daughter..." She said, picking up the baby from the stroller. Yoongi smiled at the baby, and she smiled back. "What's her name?" Yoongi asked, feeling the pain in his chest grow.
"Minah." She told him. Then, Yoongi's heart really did stop. Minah...it was her favorite baby name. She always talked about how she would name her first daughter that, memories of her hopes for the future flowing through Yoongi's mind.
The reality seemed to finally hit Yoongi. She had moved on, started a family. This whole time, Yoongi had hoped that she was still hung up on him, like he was with her. But she continued on, without him.
The tears returned to his eyes as he looked at her, holding Minah. She had tears in her eyes again as well, seeing how upset Yoongi was. He noticed how much Minah looked like her.
"How old is she?" Yoongi asked, trying to distract himself from crying. "Six months now." She answered, turning to Jae and smiling. That smile just stabbed Yoongi in the chest more.
She handed Minah over to Jae, telling them to go ahead for a moment. They both watched as Jae put Minah back in the stroller, giving Yoongi a few glances before walking a bit more down the path.
Then she returned her eyes to Yoongi, seeing the sad smile on his lips. "Minah is beautiful." He said, his voice cracking. He had to look down to avoid crying.
"I miss you." She whispered, almost too quietly for Yoongi to hear. He looked up, meeting her gaze and seeing a tear fall down her cheek. He stepped closer, bringing a hand to her cheek to wipe her tears.
But before his fingers grazed her skin, she turned around, walking away. He watched as he saw her shoulders rise and fall sharply, hearing her let out a cry. His heart hurt as he felt his fists clench.
He stood there, watching her walk away, out of his life for the second time.
But he didn't want to let her go, not yet.
