chapter 8 - dinner

I sneaked a glance at Isaac now and then to make sure he wasn't going to run away. I mean, I know that there's something definitely wrong with Suzanne being here because when I turned to look at him after Suzanne said her full name and walked to sit with the rest of my family, including Emily's boyfriend, I saw the color drain from Isaac's face. I raised an eyebrow, but he just turned back to normal and sat down.

I repeated her name in my head, thinking of anything familiar about it. I couldn't think of anything familiar about this name. Then, I repeated her full name in my head again and again. That's when it clicked, I read about the name 'Deucalians' online under the topic, hunters. YES! I remembered-

NO! She's a hunter, for god sake, what the hell am I thinking. This cannot be good. Definitely not go-

Suddenly, there was a hand waving in front of my face. Damn it, I zoned out.

I looked at Emily, who had her eyebrows raised, "Nothing" I mumbled and noticed that the food was here. I had ordered for myself lasagne and mountain dew for drinks. Currently I was sitting next to Emily, Suzanne between Mom and Emily. Dad sat in front of mom, Draco -Emily's boyfriend- sat in front of Emily, Isaac sat in front of me with Eden sitting next to me and Isaac, both-kind of like in the middle.

Eden started talking to Isaac, starting from trying to be protective, they ended up talking about video games. Eden used to be a very good football player, but he quit because he wanted to become a software engineer, but he still plays football once a week with his friends. He is twenty two, Caden twenty four and Emily twenty one. Emily is a cosmetologist and make up artist.

I finished my food and excused myself to use the washroom. I walked into the washroom and looked at myself in the mirror. Suzanne is a really nice person. Is it possible she is a hunter?

Right then, Suzanne walked into the washroom. "Hey, Celestina" she said as she stood beside and applied lipstick, looking at herself in the mirror. "What's your boyfriends name again?" she asked.

Oh My Dear Lord! She is asking his name. Should I lie? Definitely not, she's gonna find out anyways, but what if she is a hunter and she has a list of all werewolves names. I can't lie, but I can't tell the truth.

"Are you alright?" She asked.

"Yeah, zoned out" I said, "his name is Isaac"

"Oh, he better watch out for Eden" She said, "he is being asked a million questions isn't he" I nodded in reply, "I'll see you out there" She left the washroom with me following right behind her.

I noticed that Emily had already left with her boyfriend. They've probably gone to Draco's house. I take my seat and have ice cream for dessert. After a while, Isaac and I leave since we still have school tomorrow.

Like a gentleman, Isaac opens the door of the car for me, I get in and he shut the door close and got into the drivers seat.

"What was that?"

I raised an eyebrow, "what do you mean what was that?"

"you didn't tell me two things" he said as he started the ignition, "three actually" I gave him a confused look, "one, you didn't tell me this was a family dinner and also that it was gonna be a fancy restaurant. Two, you did not tell me I was supposed to be called your boyfriend and three, you did not tell me there was supposed to be a Deucalian here. I don't understand what the hell you're doing. Get this drilled into your brain, I'm not your boyfriend. I don't like you. You understand me, we're not dating" He said with anger as he drove very fast.

"I never said, I wanted to be your girlfriend. My sister, Emily. She wanted to bring her boyfriend, she saw you giving me a ride home and said that I should bring you for the dinner. Also, I never said that I liked you" I shouted with tears in my eyes, I quickly blinked them away. He stopped in front of my house, I got out of the car, slamming the door shut while I said, "I hate you" and walked into my house, not looking back.

I went to my room as I heard his car park. Didn't you know? He is my neighbor, isn't that just fan-freaking-tastic. I changed into shorts, a shirt and braided my hair before I laid on my bed. I looked out the window to find Isaac, laying on his bed. I switched off the lights and went to sleep.
