Chapter 6 - Secretly

Yesterday -that is Saturday- after Isaac confessed about him being a 'beta wolf' which I had no clue what it meant, I kept my distance from Isaac. And now, it's eight in the morning and I'm laying on my bed wide awake, thinking about it.

After a while, I had a bath and changed into casual clothings. Out of curiosity, I googled the term, 'beta wolf' still not being able to take my mind off it. I got alot of information. It says,

'In Southfalls there were supernatural creatures in 1971, but as time went they were hunted down. There might be some creatures out there.'

There was alot more, I skipped everything and googled about the hunters, this is what it said.

'The Deucalian family have been very famous-'  then my laptop was rudely shut.

I looked up to see my brother, Caden standing there with his arms crossed over his chest.

"What are you so occupied with that you didn't notice me walking in?" He asked with an eyebrow raised.

"Nothing just school project" I answered. I was pretty sure he wouldn't have made a huge scene if I told him about 'beta wolf', but i chose not to tell him about it as he was not less curious than me. He would have asked me a billion questions and I'm pretty sure one of them would be, 'how did you come across this term?' And I was not jobless to answer his questions. He worked as a doctor.

"Well then I'd like to tell you something since you are my little sister" he said.

"One, I'm not little" I stated, "two, I'm not sure what's really up that you came to me, 'your little sister' and didn't go to your actual little sister Claire" I stated, raising an eyebrow.

He ploped down into the bean bag and said oh so plainly, "I'm getting married" which made me choke. Okay, wait was he even engaged?

"You're not even engaged" I blurted out.

"Maybe I'm"

"But, you're not"

"Maybe"

"But, you're not"

"Secretly"

My eyes widen, "you're serious" I looked at him, "oh my god"

"I came to you knowing that you were one person who would help" he said, running a hand through his raven black hair. "Not overreact"

"Fine, fine" I threw my hands up in defense, "what do I do?" I asked with an eyebrow raised.

"Talk to ma and pa" he said,

I sighed and said, "fine" although Claire was the little one in our family, I was the princess of the house. If I wanted anything, I had to just ask and if my siblings needed something, they had to just ask me. "They are gonna be here for lunch and dinner, I'll talk to them" he nodded and left the room.

Usually, in eating I was really fast, but today I had to eat slowly so I could talk to my parents. You know, so I don't finish my food and look at my parents face while they are eating. Thankfully, today there was silence. I looked at Caden who gave me a smile then turned to my parents.

I fake coughed, getting myself all the attention. "Something you want to talk about, sweetie?" My mother asked me.

"What makes you think I want to talk about something?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Well, usually when you want to talk about something, you eat slower and try to get all the attention" she stated "now you did that by fake coughing" I couldn't disagree. It was true, so I just talked to them about my brother secretly engaged to a girl. I was clueless when they asked me about her, so I had to turn to my brother for the answers all the time.

Finally and thankfully, they said yes. It was not really a surprise though, my parents are usually always excited for weddings. As soon as they agreed, they stood up and walked to their room, making arrangements for the wedding which was in a month.

Tomorrow, Suzanne -my brothers fiancée- and all of us will be going out for dinner.

Can't wait. Note the sarcasm, I mean I'm not a fan of meeting new people everyday.
