A squeaking car..
People in gasp..
Like everything is on slowmo..
The next thing I knew..

"Come on up now!" said a male voice

I slowly open my eyes. Curious and confused like what the hell had happened.

"Aren't you going to move?"

I looked up and saw a guy dressed in suit and tie, holding a black scroll.

I stood up and faced him.
He opened the empty scroll and...
In just a blink of my eyes, letters and words started to appear in white ink.

"Name: Yleina Summers
Age: 18 years old
Cause of dea... "

I blinked my eyes a couple of times..  No. Actually, like a hundred times.

"Whoa.. Whoa.. Whoa.. Wait!"

He halted then stared at me.

I tip-toed to see what's written in that black sheet of paper.

Was he joking?

I gasped.

Is this a nightmare?

"No. This isn't real right?" I asked him

We were in some kind of stasis. Like everybody are on a stand-still.

"This is not happening, right?"

But his expression remained blank as he shifted his head to somewhere which I followed.

Broken glasses.
Litters.
Ruins.
Blood.

My tears started to fall seeing how wretched my condition is.
My tears started to flow even more realizing, it is my mother's birthday.

My legs we're trembling. My hands were shaking.
I grabbed him on his arms keeping my balance.

"No.. This can't be!"

Those were the only words I can say.

He cleared his throat. Not even minding my arms clinging around his.
"Cause of death: Car accid.. "

"Please" sobbing "please let me live." I begged him "please don't take me away"

His pursing his lips.

"It doesn't work like that"

"I'll do everything you want me to do, just.. Just don't let me die"

"Look, human, we're only supposed to take dead people's soul. We're not the ones responsible in reviving you"

"Please! I'm begging you" sobbing "I'm not yet ready for this!"

"So did I?"

"Can't you just spare me just this once?"

"No I can't"

He's heartless.

"What do you expect? I'm a reaper. I need not to feel sorry while taking souls."

I looked at him with eyes so puffy I can even barely see him.

"I can read your thoughts" he stated with a cold voice

I stayed quiet.

"Yeah. You need not to say anything you wanted to say. I already heard it all. But... It's still a no"

He again started to read the inscription written on that black sheeted scroll.

Then..

Everything went white..

Am I dead? For real?"
