Max's POV

"Hullo, parents, who never even bothered to check if I was alive." I gave a small wave as my former parents tried to hug me.

Brendon whispered in my ear. "Don't be rude. they'll think I brought you up wrong."

My mother cried. "We tried so hard to find you. We wanted your cancer cured. There was a crash, and we hired a detective, but they told us there was noting we could do." She sobbed, and my father consoled her.

I had my mother's nose, and my father's eyes. My cheekbones were a mixture of both, but I didn't know where I got the hair from.

"Celeste!" My father called up the stairs. "Are you ready to meet Max?"

I called up after him. "Don't get to used to it. I'm staying with Brendon. Actually, it's probably better if you just stay up there." I crossed my arms over my  chest, as a familiar face came down the stairs.

She had bright blue eyes, and her hair was also silver, but hers looked like cobwebs, spindling down, so thin, each strand was almost invisible,  but all together, they turned into almost a white color. She had a sprinkle of freckles across her nose, and her nose itself was slightly turned up, daintily.

I scoffed. "Well, you look juts like a princess." When did I become so mean?

"Yeah, well, I don't fight like one. Love the haircut, and you got it changed back? Nice. Now Shut the fuck up, and say a proper hello."  She was just as rude as I was.

I snorted. "I think you forgot. We used to live in Australia, not Great Britain. I don't need to do things properly." I turned to Brendon. "Can we leave now? I said hello. well, kinda."

"No, we cannot leave. Apologize now." He crossed his arms over his chest. "I didn't raise you like this."

"No. You also didn't raise me at all. I was raised by an emotionless, uncultured swine, and before that, I had parents who didn't bother to look for me. The doctors took the tumors out, not the pain and resentment. I'm going to wait out in the car."

I stormed out and Brendon called out after me. "You're grounded."

I called back. "Try me."
