"No Louie, bad boy." I could vaguely hear Harry scolding the dog somewhere on the other side of the house and it made me crack a smile.
I was now almost 9 months pregnant and it was hard for me to do almost anything. While Harry had been out at work his mum, Anne would come and 'keep me company'. However I knew Harry had asked her to make sure I didn't get myself into any trouble.
Anne had just left a few minutes ago upon her sons arrival but not before making me a cup of tea and giving me instructions not to move until Harry helped me to bed.
Louie's cute little playful barks echoed through the halls followed by the sound of his claws tapping against the hardwood flooring. Seconds later he came bounding into the living room with one of Harry's very expensive, designer shirts hanging from his mouth.
"I swear to god if you ruin that shirt you're gonna be sleeping outside," Louie pranced over to me with his tail wagging as Harry came stomping into the room. "Des, I am going to kill your dog."
I couldn't help but laugh, all Lou wanted was a little bit of attention and I was surprised to find that he somewhat knew I was pregnant so he took it easy on me.
"Our dog babe, Louie is our dog not just mine. Besides, he just wants to play with his daddy." He just grumbled at me but proceeded to walk over to the couch and drop down beside me. "How are you going to cope with two kids in the house, huh?"
"He just doesn't like me, I don' understand him." Lou had dropped the shirt at this point and decided to cuddle up in Harry's lap. "Why is he like this? I swear he's only putting on an act because you're around." I just giggled at his logic but didn't say anything further.
"Are you regretting not asking what gender the baby is?" That was something I'd spent a small portion of everyday thinking about, but honestly I liked that it was a surprise.
"No, I think it'll only make the birth that much more exciting..." Harry looped his arm around my shoulders and hauled me into his side so he could lay a sweet kiss on my cheek.
We sat in silence for a little while with the fire crackling and the TV playing a black and white movie on silent. This was my life now, and I couldn't find a hint of regret for anything I'd done to get here.
"Your sisters are coming over tomorrow and I don't have to go in for work, do you want me to stay in or do you want me out?" I snuggled into him further and closed my eyes at the sound of his voice.
"I want you to stay in, please." Louie yawned and scooted over in Harry's lap to be closer to me, he was the sweetest thing and I absolutely adored him so much. I couldn't even begin to imagine how I would feel towards me own child.
"We made a little person H, it's a bit of you and a bit of me and it's just inside me... Who do you think the baby will look more like?" I genuinely was really excited to meet our little person, and right now I was just letting my imagination run free.
"Me, we're going to have a boy I can feel it." I playfully scoffed and shook my head 'no' at his statement.
"Um, no Harry. We're having a girl but I think she'll probably look more like you... But there will definitely be little accents of me in her too."
Harry didn't say anything for a few seconds, he just pulled me closer and looked at me with the most loving smile on his face.
"What are we going to call her?" I thought for a moment before answering.
"I was thinking either Elvira or Silver, I don't know I just really love those names.. But I mean we don't have to name her either if you don't like them."
