Chapter 11
The next morning, I woke up in Vince's arms. He was still sleeping, and gosh he looked so adorable. I reached up and ran my hands through his hair. He then smiled while his eyes were closed, and tightened his grip around my waist.
"Good morning sweetheart," I whispered in his ear. He responded by kissing my forehead.
"Good morning, sweet love." He whispered that in my ear and it immediately made me blush. "What do you want to do today?" he asked me.
"Explore the city of New York, of course," I said.
"Boy, do I have a lot to show you." He kissed my lips quickly.
"I'm going to shower," I said as I got up from the bed.
"Not until I kiss you, first," he said coming up behind me.
He kissed me I'm such a way that I knew he loved me, but we haven't told each other that yet. "Lauren stop getting ahead of yourself," I told myself.
I quickly got dressed and threw on some dark jeans, a long shirt, and my favorite brown boots.
I was waiting on Vince to get out of the shower and get ready, and I got bored. He never finished unpacking, so I decided I would do it for him. I was almost done, and when I got to the bottom of the suitcase, I found a picture of a gorgeous blonde with big blue eyes and full lips.
Who the hell is this chick? I turned the picture over to find that it said: For Vincypoo. Love, Susanne.
Susanne. Susanne who? Why did Vince have a picture of her in his suitcase? I thought he only had eyes for me? Maybe she was an old girlfriend, but why would MY Vince have a picture of someone besides me in his suitcase?
Then, I hear Vince's phone ringing. I look over at the bedside table where it was laying. The screen flashed: Susanne.
Oh hell no. The next thing I knew I was holding the phone in my hands. I was furious. I put the phone to my ear but didn't say anything. I hear, "Vincy why haven't you been returning my calls? I've missed you, baby. Talk to me, Vince. I love you."
I hung the phone up and walked out of the hotel. I didn't wait for Vince. I just found a taxi and called it over. I didn't know where I was going or what I was even doing, really. "Just drive." That's what I told the taxi driver. Of course, he obeyed.
After about an hour and a half later, I realized the taxi was parked. "Miss, where would you like to go? I do have other people wanting a taxi," the taxi driver said to me. He looked tired. He looked like he was about the age of fifty.
"Umm, sorry. Here is fine," I told him. "Everything ok?" he asked.
"I don't know."
"I'm a good listener. Try me," he told me.
I don't know why I told a perfect stranger about my business with my boyfriend, but I did. I told him about how I found the picture, the phone call from Susanne, how much he showed me he cared for me, but obviously he was hiding something.
"I think you should at least give the man a chance to explain himself. He deserves that, and so do you. You'll worry yourself sick if you don't find out," he said and then gave me a small smile before he said, "It couldn't hurt, right?"
I thought for a moment, and decided he was right. "I will give him a chance. Thanks for listening and giving the good advice," I said as I reached into my pocket for some money. He held up his hand and told me it was on him, and it was his pleasure. I still gave him
