Chapter 13
The next morning, Vince and I had to get ready to meet his parents. While he was helping his father out with some law business, I would be out and about with his mother. It was hard for me to actually get out of bed because I wanted to stay in Vince's arms. I took everything in again. I took in his features, his love, and his understanding that he has for me.
"I love you," I whispered in his ear while he was sleeping softly. I was just about to get out of bed to shower, when I felt Vince's strong arms around me. He pulled me back down with him and his blue eyes pierced into mine. "I could never get tired of hearing you say those words to me. I love you, too my sweet, sweet love." I, of course, blushed.
"I'll never get tired of saying it to you," I said to him as I cupped my hands around his face. "I was just going to shower."
Vince held up a hand, "Okay, okay. Fine, I'll shower with you."
I was about to say something but was suddenly interrupted.
"Lauren, you don't have to beg. Seriously, calm down. All you had to do was ask," he said jokingly while grinning at me.
"Actually, Mr. Know-It-All, I never asked. As a matter of fact, I'd much prefer to shower by myself than with some conceited guy," I said and then I stuck my tongue out at him.
He winked at me. "Whatever, you know you love me." I just shrugged and stuck my tongue out at him again.
"Okay, into the shower we go!" And just like that, I was being thrown over his shoulder and carried into the bathroom.
I couldn't help but think to myself that he is the funnest boyfriend ever.
***********
We all met up at The Ristro again. His parents really enjoyed fancy food, and that made it kind of hard to believe that they would really like Cajun food. They dressed in rich attire. His dad, Rodger, was wearing a black Armani suit with a white shirt and a royal blue tie. His mom, Rose, was wearing a straight beige dress that showed all of her hips. She had a beige slightly furry shoulder coat on as well.
That day, Vince wore a black Armani suit and black tie due to his father's instructions. I had never seen Vince in a suit before, and we all know... He was absolutely breathtaking. It outlined his broad shoulders and made him look even broader and fit... if that was even possible. I wore a simple black dress with black heels and the necklace Vince had gotten me.
As soon as we had gotten done eating at The Ristro, Vince and his father immediately left. "I'll be back later, love, and we will have the whole rest of the day to ourselves," he said and then kissed me passionately on the lips in front of his parents. I knew I was blushing when he let me go and walked out the door because Rose said, "I have never seen Vince have this kind of effect on someone, and I certainly have not seen someone have this kind of effect on him."
"Your son is very special to me, and I certainly have never been affected by anyone like I am by him. He's so different than any person I have ever met," I said with a sincere smile on my face.
"Oh, honey it just warms my heart to hear you say that. He is absolutely crazy about you! Now, what would you like to do today?"
Before I could even answer, she put her hand on my arm and said, "We'll go shopping!"
"Are you sure," I asked. "Vince and I went shopping yesterday, and I know I can be a handful when shopping."
"Oh dear, don't you worry. I am the shopping queen! You have't truly been shopping around New York until you have been shopping with me. Come on, let's go!"
