"Tell me again?" I asked softly as I popped a stale chip into my mouth.

"I've told you about twenty times." My uncle grunted shoving his big hand into my chip bag. He got a very intense glare from me and I smacked his hand.

"I want to hear it again." I shrugged.

It's been four days and Michonne left yesterday to go look for some guy who had attacked the prison a while back. I got curious and asked my uncle about what happened and he ended up telling me about everything. The Mexicans in Atlanta, the CDC with the suicidal scientist, losing a little girl, Carl being shot, finding the farm, the farm being overrun, being on the road, finding the prison and everything that happened here since then.

"I'm tired of tellin' it. I lived it once already." He sighed and rested his chin on the tail of the guard tower. It was my uncles turn to be on watch and again I couldn't sleep so I decided to join him. My legs were dangling over the edge and I was staring into the darkness of the trees while eating my chips.

"It's just so crazy," I said. "How you guys went through so much and you're still here."

"Tell me your story." My uncle turned to look at me for only a moment before turning back to look at the trees.

"Not much to tell. It was me, Thunder, Adam and dad for a while. We were mostly on the road. Mom had gotten bit in the very beginning and we buried her in the backyard. Dad got bit after a good few months and we buried him too. Adam took care of us. We just always kept moving. We couldn't risk staying in one place for to long and when we were staying at a warehouse," I stopped to take a deep breath. "It got overrun and we got separated. I tried to find them and even when Rick found me, I was still looking even though it had been months. I don't know if they're dead or not." A tear ran down my cheek silently. Luckily it was the cheek my uncle couldn't see. Suddenly not hungry I put my chips down and propped my arms up on the rail and resting my chin on my hands.

"I'm sorry kid." Uncle Daryl wasn't one for affection but he tried and that was enough for me. He scooted closer to me and wrapped an arm around me. I laid my head on his shoulder and suddenly felt sleepy.

I yawned. "You should get some sleep kid." Uncle Daryl said. "I've got it."

"Okay." Was all I said as I rubbed my eyes and yawned again. I entered the guard tower and slipped into the sleeping bag that was laid out on a mattress. It wasn't long after my head hit the pillow when I fell asleep.

"Hey! Lightning!" I groaned at the annoying buzzing sound that pulled me away from the dark void of peaceful nothing.

"What?" I growled as I shoved my face into the pillow.

"How are you still asleep? Get up!" Uncle Daryl said half joking and half being serious.

"What time is it?" I asked sitting up and squinting at the harsh light.

"Uh, probably 'round two." My uncle shrugged.

"Shit." I sighed. "I must've slept a while."

"Yeah. Come down and get somethin' to eat." Daryl disappeared into the lower part of the guard tower and I sighed. I slid out of the sleeping bag and fixed my shirt that was slanted and I stood up. I looked out the glass into the field and saw Rick and Carl mending the garden. I saw some of the other kids next to the fence pointing at the walkers. Curiosity got the best of me and I left the guard toward and walked over to them.
