Evan's POV

"...just as he was the first one to succeed in...and because of that, they made him...so he's know worldwide because of that..."

The lecture that our history teacher was teaching us today wasn't really any sort of interesting.

I kept hearing bits and pieces of the monologue he had prepared a night before to bore the whole class, but other than that I heard nothing as I kept drifting off and thinking about anything else.

I waited for the teacher to look away so I could pull out my phone and check the time.

After a few seconds he turned around and started writing something on the board and I quickly reached into my pocket and pulled out my phone.

12 minutes...

That's how long I had to survive while 'listening' to a bunch of bullshit stories about some guy nobody cared about.

I sighed and silently banged my head against the table. It wasn't until the teacher said something that perked me up that made me look up from the desk back at him.

"And now class, I have an important announcement. You are all going to be doing a project for your next grade in history."

I heard groans and sighs from all around the classroom.

"Okay now, you have to do it. It is worth 60% of your final grade in history. Anyways, you won't be doing it alone. I have assigned you partners that you will work with but before I get to that...You will be doing a three paged essay on an important world-know or famous monument in the world."

I hated history. I especially hated projects.

But, we were gonna be doing it with someone, so I was hoping I would get stuck with Craig or Brock because they weren't lazy when it came to their grades.

The teacher began reading his list of who will be partners with who, but I only payed attention when my name came up.

"...Evan and Tyler...Marcel and..."

I froze. Tyler? I am gonna be partners with Tyler?

Don't get me wrong, he's pretty smart and also cares about his grades. But...he's also my secret crush.

I hated to admit it. But even as much as I did, I couldn't deny it. I was gay. For Tyler.

I looked behind me where Tyler sat and he was grinning at me.

"Hey, would'ya look at that? We're partners!" -He exclaimed, because it was barely audible with the entire classroom talking loudly about the whole partners-thing.

"Yeah, I guess we are..." -I said a little nervously as I tried to act normal.

Or just act like I'm not internally screaming at how I couldn't play it off cool this time.

And just for my luck, he seemed to have notice.

"You okay? You're acting weird..." -He asked and I laughed seeing his face so serious.

"What?" -he asked, clueless to what I was laughing at.

"Nothing. And I'm fine, honestly." -I answered in between laughs and turned back around when I heard the bell ring.

I practically ran out of the classroom when it did, avoiding anyone calling out to me on the way home, since it was the last class of the day.

I ran all the way home to try and shake off the feeling of nervousness.

I opened the door and slammed it shut breathing heavily.

"Careful Evan!" -My mom yelled from the kitchen and came over to me.

"Why are you out of breath? Did you run home?" -she asked concerned.

I guess I get that since I always come home twenty-five minutes after it finishes. Today, I was home in less than five.

"Yeah, I'm fine." -I said walking up the stairs to my room.

"Are you sure honey? Cause you never run home, and-"

"I'm fine." -I said, cutting her off, and walking further upstairs.

I walked over to my room and opened the door, closing it with a sigh. I jumped slightly as I heard a ring.

I relaxed when I realized it was my phone ringing so I pulled it out of my pocket and answered it.

"Hey." -Tyler's voice rang from the other side.

"Hey. What's up?" -I asked casually and leaned against the door of my room.

"I called cause I wanted to know if you wanted to do that project today."

I slid down into a sitting position, still leaned against the door, and tried to not freak out.

"Uh, yeah sure. When?" -I asked.

"Wanna do it now?"

"Yeah okay."

"Got it. I'll be at your house in ten minutes." -he said and hung up.

I sighed again for the umpteenth time today and got up from the floor.

I looked around my room and saw it looked a little bit messy. Normally, I wouldn't care.

But today was...different. So, I immediately panicked and started cleaning up my room.

I threw all of the clothes on my bed into the dresser, put away all of the CD's back on the shelf, picked up the books from the floor and put them into their drawer and threw the rest of the stuff I had to put away - under the bed.

I was done and looked over to my digital clock that was on my night dresser.

02:47 PM

I still had some time before Tyler showed up, so I decided to change clothes.

I opened my dresser and picked out my favorite black short sleeved shirt that had a golden owl on it and some jeans. I switched jeans and took off my shirt.

I was about to put on the other shirt when Tyler came in bursting through the door scaring the life out of me.

"Hey Evan! What's- woah, bad time?" -He asked sheepishly and I was sruprised.

He actually looked kind of nervous and he was never like that. Or at least, I've never seen him like that.

Only when he left my room and closed the door I realized that I was still shirtless and I blushed. A lot.

But for a second before he left my room, he looked like he was blushing as well.

Was he?
