There's a storm forming. Both a literal and a metaphorical one.
Josh Pines, our local news anchors voice boomed through the televisions today. He kept on gesticulating with his hand, saying that we should all stay indoors and stuff.
But Josh Pine's storm is not the one that's worrying me.
It's the one at school.
I guess everyone feels it, John. It's like we're walking all on egg shells. Everyone is only whispering and gossiping. No one is paying attention to class any longer. And if they do, it's gone as soon as Parker Hood walks past.
Can't figure out what's wrong? Let me explain.
Lotta has a brother. His name is Augustine Henley. August used to go to our school. Until he got in the biggest fight with Parker Hood (it was so bad I thought that the world was gonna end).
August got expelled and he now goes to Kingston High. The school in the next town.
And also, he's Kingston's quarterback.
Still don't understand?
Parker and August are the biggest foes. They're like Batman and Joker. Edward and Jacob. Because:
1) Parker hates August for fighting with him in the first place and vice versa.
2) August hates Parker for getting him expelled
3) August hates the fact that Parker is dating Lotta because of the above.
4) They hate each other because they're their schools respected quarterbacks and are practically destined to hate each other.See the many reasons for the rivalry between the two.
Not really. Just boys being boys:)
Now, the last few games between our school and Kingston High had ended with Kingston winning by a touchdown. All the time.
And August found pleasure in rubbing it in Hood's face. Now, that didn't suit Hood because he doesn't like to lose especially to August. So he always lets out his frustration and anger on...
Lotta.
Because he can't directly hurt August, he hurts him with Lotta.
Sick little freak, that Hood. Just like August says and I quote 'I don't know what Lotta sees in you!'
I don't either. But I guess she deserves it.
So, as I was saying John, August found pleasure in pissing off Hood. Until the last game.
Hood had punched August. And August retailed. And then all hell broke loose with Hood screaming 'Watch your fucking back, Henley!' and August shouting 'Your a retard! I don't know what my sister sees in you!"
Back to our metaphorical storm at school:
The next game between Bloumsville High and Kingston High is coming week. And August and Parker have already called for war.
Bets are being made by people at our school, sides are chosen (Bloumsville High has a lot of Hood-haters but still a ton of August-lovers), fights break lose. And the worst: Lotta is being pitied.
Why?
Even though she might not see it herself, the stares and whispers that follow Lotta sure don't go unnoticed by Scar, Mitchell and me.
Mitchell: I don't understand Ruben. What does she see in that fuckhead?
Scar: She should dump his sorry ass and date a chunk like Mitchell.
I had given Scar an unimpressed look. She knows how I feel about Lotta.
John, I don't want Hood to hurt Lotta.
Why?
I see it in her eyes.
She's scared.
I'm scared.
Why? Why why why?
