Mallory stayed up till 2 in the morning waiting for him to come back.

She glanced over at the clock it 2:32 am. She looked back at the tv grabbed the remote and turned it off.

"Fuck this I'm not waiting on him he's probably somewhere getting high or something right now and here I am like a dumbass waiting for him to come home to see if he's okay." She said to herself walking upstairs and going to sleep.

A few hours later Justin came back and of course he wasn't himself he saw her sleeping and didn't want to wake her so he took a shower and changed clothes and left before she woke up.

Mallory got up and looked around his stuffs been moved he must've came back he's probably downstairs. She assumed.

She walked downstairs he wasn't there since he had already left hours before.

She called Lydia.

"Hey how are you?" Lydia picked up.

"I'm fine how was your date?" She asked.

"It was great he's so sweet and handsome uuggh I sound like a girly girl and and after we at outside and he sung a song for me so romantic." Lydia said.

"Well you sound like you had fun in gonna have to talk to Max." Mallory said.

"What did Justin want?" She asked.

"I don't know he's was being paranoid he said something about someone that could've killed me at the concert or something and then he just left I guess he came back but he's gone now." Mallory said.

"And I'm sorry I should've stayed Lydia your always there for me and I just left." She apologized.

"Mal don't worry it's fine and who?" She asked.

"He never said his name just that they were rivals." Mallory said.

"How come I didn't recognize him and he did but then again I wasn't really paying attention to the crowd mostly just.. Max." Lydia blushed.

"Right Well I'll see you later Lydia." Mallory said.

"Bye." Lydia hung up.

Someone knocked at the door Mallory didn't know if she should let them in or not if the guards let him in he must've a friend of Justin's right?

She went to the door and opened it it was a man with greenish blue eyes and short brown hair he looked down at Mallory. "Yeah.. hey where's Justin?" He said looking inside.

"He's not here." She said.

"Oh you can trust me I'm his friend he told me to come by." Mallory rolled her eyes. "Listen dude like I said he's not here he left now if that's all—"

"Well tell him I came by will ya?" He said before walking off.

She called Jake

Can you come pick me up?

Uh yeah where are you?" He asked.

"Justin's." Mallory said putting on her clothes.

"I thought you'd be at Emily's or something ok." Jake said before hanging up.

Mallory waited for him to come she walked down to his car and got in.

"Hey." She said putting on her seatbelt.

"Hey." Jake said staring the car.

"Where are we going?" Mallory asked sitting back.

"I don't know just ride." Jake screeches out the driveway.

They go riding around the city when Jake drives by the zoo and stops and pulls in.

"What are you doing?" Mallory asked.

"It's my friends kids birthday she asked me to get him some cake and take him to the zoo she said she's to busy she's like some grade A office worker she's like co owner of some big company." Jake explained getting out.

"Where is he?" Mallory asked as a little boy ran over to Jake with a tiger hat on and hugged his legs. "Jake!" He yelled not letting go.

"Hey Lucas." Jake said giving him a high five.

His mom came over carrying a back pack she was all dressed in office attire her hair up a blazer and some black heels. "Jake thanks I owe you one bye Lucas honey mommy will be back have fun happy birthday." she said quickly getting in her grey sports car.

"Well lets go." Jake said picking up Lucas.

They stood in line. "Guess how old I'm turning?" Lucas said smiling up at Jake up at Jake.

"Uggh.... 37?" Jake joked. "No! Lucas yelled.

"8." He said holding up 7 fingers changing for it to 8 on second glance.

They got the tickets and walked in.

"I can't wait to see the giraffes and the elephants and tigers ooh can we go see the monkeys?" He said pulling Jake along.

"Ok ok we can go see the monkeys." Jake said.

"What's your favorite animal Lucas? Mallory asked walking alongside him and Jake.

"Um... what's your name?" He asked.

Jake laughed.

"Mal." She said.

"Oh well Mallory my favorite animal is... a tiger." Lucas said petting his hat.

They found the monkeys. Lucas sat there laughing at them and then saw a sign that said birds and ran.

"Wait Lucas!"Jake yelled running through the crowds.

He stopped and grabbed his hand. "Look Jake the birds!" He jumped up and down.

Mallory caught up. "Wow he's active." She said catching his breath.

"Look Mallory that's a parrot." He said pointing to it.

"Look Mallory that's a parrot skwock!"the parrot mimicked Lucas.

"Wow!" He said looking at the rest of the birds before going to look at the next thing.

"I'm hungry." He said after looking at some more animals.

"Ok." Jake said as they walked to the zoos eating area.

Mallory sat with Lucas while he asked 10 million questions.

"Look look there's Jake ask him." Mallory said pointing at him.

Lucas face lit up. "Cake!" He yelled.

After eating the cake and ice cream they went to the tiger exhibit.

"Look he's like my hat!" Lucas said.

Mallory pocket vibrated.

It was Justin.

"I'm sorry." He text.

Mallory face dropped coming from him wether it was a text or not it meant so much.

"What is it?" She asked.

"Nothing." She said turning off her phone.

"Mal I wanted to talk to you about you know spending Christmas together."

"Look its a baby tiger." Lucas said.

"This is the best birthday ever." He said as they started to walk back out.

"I wish mom was here she's always busy even on my birthday." Like said with his head held down.

"But you still had fun." Mallory said. "I grew up without my mom and dad they put me up for adoption and I still had a great childhood." Mallory said.

Mallory crouched down to Lucas."I promise one day your moms gonna realize and spend all the time in the world with you." She said before they got in the car.
