Inuyasha (MY WAY)

New Life

Karau slowly rises in the purple light, spinning slowly around. Her agonizing  scream echoes through the woods. In the light Karau shines brighter than any jewel. Then the light fades away and Karau descends from the sky.

When Sesshomuro and Inuyasha look back at Karau they see a new person. Karau's hair is only inches from the ground and is both black and silver, her skin so fair. She wears a tight outfit similar to that of a demon slayer's. Sesshomuro stands, tall and strong, "Karau." She fiercely opens her eyes, they are a piercing green like daggers through your heart.

"Sesshomuro." she voice is strong yet gentle. Sesshomuro bows his head and kisses the top of her hand.

"Kagome?" Inuyasha steps forward. She turns to him and gives him a blank and empty look.

"The jewel where is it?" Sesshomuro asks frantically.

"It's destroyed." Karau says plainly walking past him.

"What do you mean 'destroyed'?" he withdraws his sword. In one swift move the sword is in Karau hands and Sesshomuro is left defenseless.

"You weren't going to try to kill me were you?" she teases pushing the sword further into his neck. "It's "gone, I used it and it disappeared. No one will ever use it again." Karau removes the sword from Sesshomuro's neck and hands it to him.

"Now you have no use of me?" he asks angrily.

"If I recall correctly, it was you who was using me." Kaura says as she walks towards the woods. As the sun finally sets she says, "What is it you truly desire, Sesshomuro?" Then she vanishes into the dark, misty forest. 

"What is it I truly desire?"

"Sesshomuro, aren't you going after her?" Inuyasha asks trying to decided whether to go after her or stay.

"Like she said I was using her, now I have no use for her." Sesshomuro mounds A-Un and leaves. Inuyasha majorly pissed off chases after Karau.

Karau sits by the banks, playing with the water. There's a rustling in the trees behind her, "How are Kikyo?"

Kikyo emerges from the woods, "Were is the Jewel?" she raises an bow aiming at Karau.

"It's gone," Karau stands and faces Kikyo. "you are relieved of all you priestess duties."

Kikyo pulls back further, concentrating, "My work is never done."

An evil laugh escapes Karau's plush full lips, "I've just been born and you still wish to kill me. You do know I'm only half."

Kikyo lowers the bow slightly, "You're only a haft demon? Weren't you already a half demon?"

"Yes, but I wasn't truly alive."

"But I still have my soul?"  Kikyo fully lowers her bow.

"When Kagome gave you your soul back, she really died. I am her demon self and have a soul of my own, you are no longer connected." Karau explains.

"No longer connected." Kikyo repeats.

"Leave now Kikyo and I won't have to kill you." Karau's nails turn into claws. Kikyo takes a step back, but stands her ground, "So you'll leave Inuyasha alone."

Karau laughs, "If he loves me, he loves me. There is nothing I can do about that."

Kikyo raises her bow again, "If you leave Inuyasha, I won't kill you. You can leave here and never return or die."

"Even if I do leave, you'll die one day. I will remain immortal and we can be together." an evil grin is placed on Karau's face.

"That's what you've planned from the beginning isn't Kagome?! You died so you could be with him forever." Kikyo says with realization.

"Finally, you understand. All I've ever wanted was to be with Inuyasha and this is the extant of what I'm willing to do. What are you will to do for him, Kikyo?" Karau asks teasing Kikyo. Inuyasha emerges from the trees, "You died for me?"

"Inuyasha!" the two girls say together.

"Kagome........ Karau, you did all of this for me?" he slowly walks toward her.

"Inuyasha, no." Kikyo cries

"Yes. I wanted to be with you forever." Karau explains again.

Inuyasha pets her cat like ears, "And now we can." He kisses her hard and passionately.

"NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!" Kikyo cries, "I can't leave. Kagome you're dead."

Karau separates from Inuyasha, "No, you are Kikyo." she slowly turns to dust. Inuyasha turns to her, Karau smiles and kisses him again.

After a few hours of being in each others arms, they return back to the village. Rin runs up to Karau, "Lady Karau!" She picks up Rin, "Hey Rin."

"Where's Sesshomuro?" she asks looking over Karau's shoulder. "Oh, there he is." Karau turns around to Sesshomuro coming out from the woods. She lets Rin down and she runs to him.

"Inuyasha go on without me, I'll be there in a sec." Karau says. Inuyasha nods and with one last glance at Sesshomuro goes further into the village.

Karau walks up to Sesshomuro, "What is it you truly desire?"

Sesshomuro looks at her intently, "You." Karau smiles slightly and hands him the Shikon Jewel.

"Then you know what you must wish for." Karau says.

"For Inuyasha to be gone." Sesshomuro says clutching the  jewel. A bright light is shoots up into the sky and comes back down with a shot like thunder. Karau wipes around just in time to see the lighting hit Inuyasha several times. The smell of burnt skin sail over to them, Karau inhales deeply, "Smells delicious." Sesshomuro laughs and kisses Karau. He puts his arm around her and walks towards the woods, "Come on Rin." he calls. Rin smiles and runs after them. She takes Karau hand, who smiles down at her. If you didn't know any better you'd they looked like a family. As they disappear, Sesshomuro plants one last kiss on Karau's sweet lips.
