Inuyasha wakes with a start, looking frantically around only to notice no sign of Karau, "God damn." He sniffs around, her scent is faint, but still evident. He follows her sweet scent to a small village. Frantic, he starts to chase and question people about her. Following his last lead, Inuyasha questions a man working in the rice fields. He's old and very scruffy.
"Have you seen a woman with long dark hair, ears like mine, large doe eyes?" he asks frantically.
"You just missed her lad." the old man says not looking up from his work.
"Please I have to find her. I can't loose her, not again." Inuyasha whispers the last part, his head hanging low. The old man looks up, with a sigh he says, "She's heading towards the southern mountains. This is the only way to get to Circe, an evil sorceress that lives up there."
"Circe, where have I heard that name before?"
"Keep following the main road, it'll lead you out of town and towards the mountains." says the old man. Inuyasha nods and takes off towards the mountains. As the wind blows Inuyasha picks up Karau's scent only making him more determined to fine her. He has to catch her, he won't let her go not again. Inuyasha does as the old man says and follows the main road. As he nears the mountains a figure dressed in white moves farther away.
"Karau!!!!" He calls. The figure turns around, spotting Inuyasha she takes off towards the mountains. "Stop please!!!! Karau!!!!" He chases after Karau into the mountains. They follow the path up the mountain, getting colder and colder the higher they go. Finally the path stops and Karau is greeted with a cliff. She turns around to face Inuyasha, taking a step closer to the edge.
"Karau please, step away from the edge." Inuyasha pleads, slowing making his way to her. As the wind blows harder Karau's hood falls and her hair is pushed from he face. Facing Inuyasha her eyes gloss over with unshed tears.
"I have to do this," she says calmly.
"No you can't leave me. I just got you back." Inuyasha cries.
"This isn't right and you know it. I have to go back everything needs to change, to be the way it was supposed to." Karau steps even closer to the edge of the cliff, almost falling off.
"Nothing needs to change, I will not loose you Kagome, I love you." he cries falling to his knees.
"That's just it! I'm not the one you love, though I look like Kagome I'm not her. You belong with her, that's why I have to go, I have to put everything back the way it was," she says taking another step almost falling over. Karau looks behind her at the fall she's about to make.
"Please, Karau," Inuyasha pleads, tears racing down his face.
"I'm sorry." She says a single tear falling as she takes that final step back and falls off the cliff.

I know this chapter is kind of short and I know I've taken awhile to update. I just want to thank all of you who have held on this whole time and to thank those who have supported this story.
